The gods don’t exist as physical dragons in my lore, so exaltation means death. This isn’t meant as a dig at anyone or anything (I do exalt anyways, it’s such good money), but it just sounds like such a good euphemism for death. Like “Oh sorry sweetie, Mr. Kitten’s with the Stormcatcher now.”

My clan lives in a giant, never-ending library. "Exalted" dragons got lost or read something they shouldn't have and went mad.

In my lore, it's not really even a thing; I don't necessarily exalt dragons that die in lore. Not that many of them have died anyway, haha.
If I exalt a lore dragon, it's usually just because I'm bored of their lore/looks, and they just get removed from the canon. Maybe their name will remain a small part of someone else's lore.

I do both, when I exalt dragons it's either that they die/disappear or they go and help Glittermom.
I have one dragon though that disappeared, but she's still in my lair. I don't want to exalt her, even though she is supposed to be gone in my lore
