...for whom, exactly, are we doing these fetch quests?
Our deity, I guess? Since (iirc) that's who 'approves our request' for regular lairspace?
In that case, as with Crim before her, I want to know what Glademama's planning to do with some of this stuff.
(If I check on a dragon I exalted in the future and it's suddenly a triple-basic Guardian, we'll have confirmation.)

Ohhh this could be interesting lore wise for all the lore writers tbh! I'm not, but perhaps...
-Food: Your dragons need energy to clear out land/whatever for a new space
-Apparel: Protective gear to wear when cleaning out a space
-Familiars: All hands on deck! Familiars help clear out a space
-Materials/Other: The space is covered in that material/trinket and needs to be cleaned up
-Battle: Some dragons take a more aggressive approach to clearing out a space. Release the pent up energy by beating up some vines!
-Eggs: Elemental energy from the egg is needed to cure/heal/clear/etc the space around it

That's...that's a good question.
Do the deities know about the hibernal lair?
It could be representative of the clan's leaders asking the gatherers, warriors, etc to go out and get these mini shipments. Or a neighbor asking for a cup of sugar.
I'll think on this more when I rest for a bit but....good question....I really want to look into this as a lore clan...

This actually provokes a lot of room for lore thoughts! Imagine if hibernal dens were frowned upon by the deities, and whoever you're paying expands your den without the deities knowing. Like, illegally. It could explain why the materials needed for each slot get more and more demanding... it gets more and more dangerous to do so.

Interestingly though one of the trade-ins is named "Food for Couriers"
So... Spitfire's giving us a helping hand expanding?[emoji=guardian scared]

I mean, it could be Crim.
Who, in her need for stuff, or just to get around the fact that there are lairs who refuse to sell things to her, has started hiring out teams to dig space for trade items.

I'm assuming we do it for ourselves. After all, someone is gonna have to clear out new space, they need food and some sort of salary. It turns out the place is infested with pests, out we go hunting moths to get rid of them. A wall in the cave/whatever it is is unstable? Earth runestone. The gene scroll is payment for a construction worker. Some of them are gifts for the couriers that deliver building materials.
The eggs? We sacrifice the eggs.

I yeet chipskink tails into mom's soup.
She thanks me by casting a sleep spell on some more of my dragons.
Seems legit.

I'm trying to figure out if the names of the tasks are any clue. The early turn-ins seem like it's things to do with the work required to build new spaces. Once we start needing to turn in eggs and gene scrolls though I'm at a loss. There isn't a lore explanation for the hibernal den. Are our dragons canonically going into a den where they hibernate?

Nobody wants to tell you why discipline is so important. Discipline is the strongest form of self-love. It is ignoring current pleasures for bigger rewards to come. It's loving yourself enough to give yourself everything you've ever wanted.
