I'm trying to think of questions for a surprise for a server I'm in, and one was "what was the first familiar ever created"...but I can't find anything about it! I would think it was a Boolean or something similar, since it was a KS item, but I'm not entirely sure.

I wasn't in the beta, but I'd imagine there was familiars back then, and since Boolean was a beta reward, I doubt it was the first ever created. I imagine you could check the item ids of familiars, which would at least give you the first familiar implemented - if it's the first familiar created, I wouldn't know.

I don't think there's actually a clear answer for that. Some familiar art assets are as old as 2010 (source), and since Undel, the lead artist for FR, published books as old as 2005 with art that has been reused for FR, it's very possible some familiars are even older.

Incidentally, the luna mith was the first familiar I ever got in this game. :P
