I make the attempt every so often, especially with a new pairing I'm excited about, to theme the hatchlings into a nice list of.. oh I don't know.. Diseases for the Plague line, Star-names for the Constellations.
I know I've renamed a few hatchlings myself, so who knows what themed list I've ruined myself, but generally it's NOT a fodder baby was was exalted a few minutes later.
Why.. why would someone spent the money on a re-name scroll to something very stupid and then exalt? You can't possibly be getting enough money back to justify that...?
This is why I exalt all the extra hatchlings in my Raver line, after I choose one for a new generation. They need to stay Ravers and not get name changed to something that makes me grind my teeth.

I have two full ones currently. One pair is making Constellations from Dragon Age. The other the all Tarot card. A third I have I name the babies after virtues, but it's not a project as I randomly breed them rather than asap like the other two.
All babies get tossed to Winddad as I don't want them ruined.

I don’t have pairs bc I don’t do breeding projects at all, I just breed for fodder, all my fodder hatchlings are named Arta. So most of my dragons’ offspring list are just Arta over and over.

with my sugarspun/honeybuns pair i name all the kids sugar in different languages, my hydrangea/foxglove pair all the kids will be named for toxic flowers, gildedbird/aureate their first nest is named after a golden pheasant and their second nest was named after an aurumvorax(gold eater big cat from dnd) so with them each nest is gonna be a golden animal of some sort), matchalatte's kids are all gonna be named after green teas, altho her mate dorayaki has been bred before so *shrugs* but he was the only one i found with the right colors, his other children are named glitter. idk sometimes i try to theme the kids but i dont mind so much if they get renamed as long as it isnt something that completely ruins the parents(examples- CHeezyBrEad, Floozy, Exaltstock, Hrmmmm, NANANANabatman)
