Well, I mean, the odds aren't exactly the same. For colors, yes, but not for other things.
It can help to find a dragon with gender/eyes you like and scatter them rather than just hatch eggs and hope for the best. It's why I prefer to scatter rather than hatch, generally speaking.
I guess the upside for eggs is that none of them are 'wasted' and all the bad hatches can be sold.

Hmmm I think about the same. I've hatched a double (aqua) mutligaze, a few doubles (two double bronzes why?, saffron, shamrock) and a primal.
As for scattering, I've scattered the following doubles: pearl, mantis, leaf, black
not to mention pretty xyz for both

Can scatters give you the same colors? If not, then yeah. It's very slightly more likely to give you better colors because your 3 OG colors won't be picked by RNG.

I'm pretty sure I've seen someone scatter a dragon and one of their colors came out the same.
