Imagine that, whenever you quoted someone, it automatically pinged them as well. You'd have to manually remove the @ sign from next to their name. Mass amounts of newbies not knowing this, quoting people all the time, the sheer number of pings you would get.

I actually like pings. And I like seeing people respond to my post in any way. So this wouldn't be cursed, at least for me. Though I can see that getting on some people's nerves. Nah, it's good the way it currently is.
