Here's a slightly blursed idea:
You get a random ancient dragon, but the ancient is based off of your favorite animal you talk about so much/one from the class, but it's randomly colored and in your lair and might ruin your mono lair but you might not care, but if you don't have lair space one of your dergs is transformed into it instead
if my lair was turned into snail things, i wouldn't mind! as long as i can keep my apparel, of course
edit: if your favorite animal was a dragon i don't think you'd get anything
also, you're all forgetting one detail.
ANY one of your dergs could be transformed.
that ugly fod you just bought/got to level 25? turned into an ancient. and if it's the first of it's kind, you kinda want to keep it.
that dragon you just FINALLY got all the gem genes for and spent a ton of money on? transformed, it's genes are gone.
the dragon you just bought an expensive skin/accent for/made one for/bought the perfect apparel for it but it was expensive? transformed.
