Flight Rising Discussion

Hey everyone! It's been forever since I was active here. I joined in 2013 and played a lot for about 2 years and then life got busy and I was on and off... now I logged in on a whim and it's crazy how much has changed! I've missed this place. And I've got a lot of downtime at work for now and need something to do, so it's back to hatching dragons haha. I've got a lot of old dragons that I think are awesome but I have no idea what's popular now!

So what's going on in the flight rising world? What's the most exciting new developments? How's the economy? What is everyone into these days? What do I need to know to get back into the groove of things?

I've missed the awesome community here. I hope to stick around for a while this time.

Welcome back! You might want to check out the Old Dragon Collector's Association, as I see you have a lot of old dragons! Their prices have risen quite significantly recently :)

old dragons 6 digit and below are pretty popular I know but other than that i've been playing on and off for the last couple years myself. If you haven't read the developers update yet I recommend it's full of hype for the upcoming anniversary.

@skaran welcome back! :D here's a Chronological Update Guide to help get you caught up.

exciting developments include new eye types (different eye colors/designs!), the Hibernal Den (dragon storage!), and most recently, the announcement of Ancient Breeds, the latter of which you can learn about in the Dev Update on the front page. there's been a bunch of new genes, familiars, apparel, and other items, too. ^^

@skaran Wellll...on June 8th, FR's anniversary, we'll be getting ancient breeds! In a summary, they won't be able to wear apparel, but this allows them to break rules modern dragons have to follow, like having more wings or less wings, more legs or less legs, more tails or no tails, and even more heads than one! It's quite exciting! I also recommend you check up on the Bounty of the Elements lore stories; they're a year old now and they're where you can find the Tidelord goes missing.

If you actually check the Tidelord's profile, you'll see his profile picture is just bubbles! He's not there.

And it was just recently announced that we also will be getting new breeds very soon, but entirely different from our current breeds (aka modern breeds) and are called ancients. They won't be able to wear apparel or breed with modern dragons or different ancient breeds. With that in mind, FR can now get different types of dragons with tertiaries that break outside the lines! And stuff like extra wings, no wings, or no forelegs etc., will happen. I'm hoping we get Swiftwings because of this! Woot!
Oh and breed changing a modern to an ancient will remove all apparel and change all genes to basic.

You've probably noticed the changes to your lair, and the addition of the hibernal den by now, There are new genes--Bee, wasp, starmap, constellation, jaguar, and rosette come to mind. We have a new addition to the festive favours, and that's Joxar! You can get recoloured sprites (I have the whole collection! They were really cheap too on the AH, probably they still are). Hmm, Glimmer and Gloom is a new game, I've heard of folks being able to max out the fairgrounds in half an hour with it.

Oh man you're gonna LOVE the AH update. No more mountains of PMs :O The color wheel expansion was pretty great, too; so much more variety! A lot of the popular colors these days are expansion colors actually. Along with the expansion, we also started getting a lot more variety in genes. So many of them use accent colors now, making for a lot of really neat color-matching possibilities in places you wouldn't expect. The Baldwin thing was pretty fun too. His art slowly started changing, and conspiracy theories abounded....eventually leading to the reveal of a new breed, Bogsneaks! Baldwin is now a Bogsneak. He still has his pearl on a shelf though [emoji=familiar heart] Those are a few highlights from the past few years, but like @/After said, the chronological update guide is pretty handy

@Rogue @Shadowdancer oh yeah I'll definitely check out the old dragon collector's association, I'm pretty attached to some of mine but I'm curious what they might be worth now haha.

@DarkMatterDragon @QueenAltari @Sinnabelle I've got to read these Bounty of the Elements stories... there's no way Tidelord can be dead. I refuse to believe it lol. Also isn't Wavecrest Saturnalia in a few days? Maybe we'll find out what's going on then?

@fistfulofdragons The last time I was here was right after the color wheel update I think! There's so many new genes too now. It's overwhelming just going through the possibilities.

@Enenica yes I was wondering about the hibernal den! And maxing out the fairgrounds in half an hour, that's crazy. The only game I used to play on there was Shock Switch. I grinded the coliseum a lot, though! I had a team of dragons maxed out at level 25... I don't think they're maxed out anymore haha.

And I just read the dev update, ancient dragons?? This looks AWESOME.
