TOPIC | Imagine if the Deities had mythology

To elaborate: What if there were tons of stories and fables and whatnot about the deities’ adventures? Like in Greek mythos, there’s tales like Icarus and anything with Zeus and things that explain why things are. I’m curious if anyone have any tales like that.

One of the highlights of Trickmurk every year is the chess competition, in honor of the primordial chess match between Shadowbinder and Lightweaver (they played one move at a time, via a board ferried back and forth by sprites. After Lightweaver overturned the board in a fit of pique, these sprites found employment teaching the new game Glimmer & Gloom to all of Sornieth)

The Shadowbinder is a typical trickster figure, most of her legends involve her pulling off tricks of mythological proportions.

The Tidelord is rarely the subject of his own legends, instead appearing as a secondary figure, commonly an advisor, in the stories of other dragons.

The Plaguebringer's myths commonly take the form of explaining natural phenomena. Where various diseases came from, or how plague-aligned animals became that way.

It's tradition in the wind flight to tell stories about the Windsinger from an outside perspective, usually a mundane dragon that happens to encounter him.

Myths about the Stormcatcher always involve him entering a clan in his domain and then firing someone. The moral is, simply put, "get back to work."

I bet there's plenty of stories where Arcanist or arcane-flight is the antagonist, especially in flights it shares borders with. I mean, it's area has tons of radiation that mutates things, and Arcanist almost destroyed world twice... you usually get the bad guy-treatment from a lot less than that

On same lines, Plague and Lightning both also get the bad guy-treatment in many mythos, especially in flights who do not agree with their ideas(for plague it's mainly nature, and for Lightning Light and maybe Earth are probably bit more than just suspicious), While on their own flights they all are seen as heroes and these other flights are seen as bad guys. In plague there was great attempt at making nature 'not the bad guy' but after BOTE... it's not been going very well

Most neutral with these kinds of things are Water and Ice, both mostly just keeping this balanced, while shadow is 'that one thing with a lot of creepy stories from outside that insiders laugh at in daily basis'

Once upon a time, during a time when Gladekeeper and Plaguebringer were in a time of political rather than outright violent warfare, they had a weird phase where they invited each other over for tea and cookies with the mutual purpose of gloating in each others faces under a thin (but very important) veil of faked politeness. They challenged each other to various games, riddles and problems just because they wanted to see the other one lose, but both being quite resourceful, neither of them had ever actually lost such a challenge.

One day, when Plaguebringer visited Gladekeeper and her entourage of wildclaws, Plaguebringer suggested a new game. They would compete and see who could make the most splendid brew of tea. Gladekeeper immediately smelled trickery, because clearly she was at an advantage, being able to summon forth the most exquisit of tea leaves with a mere bat of her beardvines. But she could not deny the challenge. She had brought her wildclaw entourage with her, and to her as well as to her children, denying a challenge was to admit loss. It was unthinkable to deny a challenge, especially in front of them.

Soon, the two met again, this time in the Plaguelands. Each brought their entourage of dragons - Plaguebringer with her mirrors, and Gladekeeper with her wildclaws, as well as their own pots of tea. They began by serving the Gladekeepers tea. It was a magnificent brew - a silver leaf blend with hints of sweetness and bitterness, the scents of all kinds of blooms and flowers drifting lightly with the rising steam. The scent was such that it dispelled even the stench of the rot of the lands, and everyone near felt themselves relax as it drew them in.
Then, it was Plaguebringers turn. She smirked as she poured up a foul-smelling, brown liquid. It smelled AWFUL, like the rot of fish meeting that thing that you have yet to evict from deep in the back of your fridge. Every dragon around, even the plague mirrors immediately drew back at the sheer nastiness of the liquid.

... but Gladekeeper stared at it, lifted it to her maws, chugged the whole cup and proposed a deal. She’d amit her loss this time, and Plaguebringer would give her the recipe. It pained her, but her pride as a gardener did not allow her to prize a brew of tea leaves, no matter how delicious, over a cup of such vigorous... compost tea.

They discussed back and forth the terms of the agreement, and in the end, Gladekeeper got the best recipe for fertilizer she ever got her claws on, and in exchange Plaguebringer kept the entourage of wildclaws she brought with her. To this day, the Plaguelands remain the land most abundant in Wildclaws outside of the Labyrinth, and Plaguebringer still rubs it in Gladekeepers face.

hmmm, my flights lore includes Lightweaver being a complicated neutral deity. i mean. she did make the world real bright basically out of spite right after being born, so.

i feel like lightweaver, who appreciates the pursuing of truth and knowledge would LOVE mysteries, and just sowing them all over her territory, like:

some dragon managing to FINALLY contact their goddess for help on solving their life's work, and she'd just go
"oh, there's a weird temple with an overly complicated lock that you've been studying all your life? oh well, i'll give a hint, have this key shard but i TOTALLY can't help more ;)"

ond OF COURSE there would be a lot of corny stories about lightweaver and shadowbinder playing games or battling, with shadowbinder tricking lightweaver in some way and the two being unable to finish their fight because they cannot ultimately beat each other.
