TOPIC | how would you fix the derg population?

so somewhat of a loaded question, but basically i see a lot of users agree that the dragon market is way too saturated at this point. While not a bad thing on it's own, a lot of people are frustrated about not being able to sell dergs. I see people trying to encourage more people to exalt, but that only gets us so far. Along with this, I'm seeing a number of users bringing up the fact that dom battles aren't happening as much as they used to because the incentive has all been lost or it's just not profitable/worth it anymore. I think the HD helped, since people can now store dragons they don't want to get rid of while clearing more lair space, but there are still currently 90169 (ha) dergs on the AH looking for homes! That's,,,, a lot!! SO I'm curious: do you have an idea of what could be implemented to help get more dragons out of the current pool? Fixes for the exaltation mechanic? New mechanics entirely? Site-wide exalt events? Or is there another idea you think could help the economy without sacrificing dragons? They'd have to be different from actual dom bonuses though so that getting 1st place still has meaning; stuff like making Baldwin recipes take 5-10% less time, or a 20-30% increased chance of finding rare items from gathering/coli, or increasing the tiny amount of gems/treasure you get at rollover, etc. I think they might actually have to put a soft cap on how many points/bonuses you can gain in a week though, since the gains for people who receive dragons for Dom raffles and the like would be absurd LOL. :D We don't think anything needs majorly fixing. The price of dragons is mostly stable and predictable and has been for several years. We love not having to spend loads of money on pretty dragons.

But more to the exalting mechanics would be cool. Having some individual things to work towards would encourage us to exalt more since Wind doesn't push very often :D

The dragon market isn't too bad, but I do strongly believe Flight Rising would possibly benefit from more features to purge excess dragons - I can't imagine all of these active dragons are doing the servers themselves justice, and I do agree that the market could do with a little push in the right direction for profit breeders.

One option would be to have a separate search option for fodder/permas, but that, unfortunately, would likely cause more problems that it would solve.

Ultimately, more rewards for exalting or more ways to rid of dragons.
