yep, i do exactly this, haha~ "GOW-ler" also just sounds more interesting to me than the correct pronunciation.

Thanks to FFXIV I now know it's a real word and also is just an archaic version of "jailer", but before that I thought it was just something FR made up. I pronounced it as "gow-ler" as well. I still do in my head, in the context of the FR species.
