Flight Rising Discussion

When the staff posted the developer update on ancients, they also added a little short story on water flight's revelation on the Tidelord still existing. A lot of people speculated that Tidelord would be returning on the sixth anniversary with the new ancient breed in tow. But now, I'm confused because we got an ice breed instead.
Now don't get me wrong...I love Gaolers, they're adorable and creepy and I want a thousand. However, nobody seems to be talking about that hype for the Tidelord coming back. I just thought he would have something to do with what the staff were hinting at in the developer update.
So, speculations anyone? Is there more to come for the Tidelord? And when could it possibly be coming?

I was sure he'd get an update for the anniversary. Seems super weird, all that build up and still nothing? The only thing bigger than the anniversary update I can imagine is a new modern breed - so that's my final guess for if we'll see tidelord again. Otherwise, maybe he's just supposed to be gone and that's the lore for the rest of the game.

I don't remember where it was said, but the staff confirmed that the anniversary update would have nothing to do with The Tidelord. That was (incorrect) fan speculation only.
