Y'all im SO EXCITED about ancient breeds, the gaolers look so cool and i love that the genes are getting WILD already. personally i was wary when they said ancient breeds wouldnt have apparel, but genes like wintercoat and gnarlhorns TOTALLY make up for it
ANYWAY!! my point of this post is speculating on what the next ancient breed might be, or what you hope it to be! i wanna hear what everyone's thinking is going to be Sornieth's Next Top Ancient Breed!
personally, i very much hope for emperors. gaolers were hinted at in the series of short stories they released a while back, and emperors featured heavily in some of those.
just think of the gene possibilities too! tertiaries that add extra heads or limbs! secondary genes that just add a bunch of wings in a variety of patterns to random spots of the body! your very own frankensteinian monstrosity, now customisable!

Hmmm, I dont think Emperors are gonna be ancients. They are basically zombies of a modern breed mashed together. But id like some hydras, they could be fun!

I really want a Plague ancient thats sickly and completley wicked, with bone protrusions and hella sharp teeth. And horns and spikes like Plaguebringer!

Emperors probably won’t happen, but... they need three heads, don’t they? How about a two-headed imperial? Just crazy enough for lore flavor, but not mindless undead beasts.

I want whatever was in the earth caves. Giant hulking creature with stony hide? Skeletal creature seemingly encased in bone and stone? Even some form of ancient Snapper? Yes please.
I'm thinking the rest of the common breeds may be the next in line for having ancients based off of them. The original Mirror concept where they had two sets of limbs, two sets of wings, and two tails. Massive dragons that superficially resemble Guardians but have fins and gills and are so massive you can only refer to them as Leviathans. Eldritch monstrosities that gave rise to the Fae that look like they crawled straight out of the dragon's equivalent of the uncanny valley.
