it does seem to be very popular, but looking at the price of the other two coli genes makes me wonder if their drop rate is lower than the other two

I'm actually lightly surprised, even Python and Morph weren't that much when they came out and they would be my closest comparison. I'm especially surprised because it's for a breed that's so limited, so there should be an even more limited demand for them.

I got to admit: it must be because Phantom's a nice looking gene! That and it's elusively isn't helping. Pretty much everyone is gening their Gaolers from the ground-up too, unless some people bought hatchlings.

I actually had an Eliminate drop for me today, which makes them less rare than the coli genes. o.O

I’ve gotten one to drop yesterday from the scorched forest, another one today from the delta. Both were after ~2 hours of focused grinding for HD items.
Edit: Proof I had two at one point, forgot to take a screenshot for the actual drop
