What process do most people take to name their dragons? Do you use the random generator or plan out their names carefully?

I usually just don't buy renaming scrolls and keep old names. My other dragons will be unnamed for months and end up with weird names found using the random generator or thesaurus.

if a dragon I got off the auction house has a name I don’t change it. It saves me the hassle of thinking bout names haha. For the ones that are unnamed I end up flipping through the generator until I find a good enough sounding name. I used to look through baby name lists but I’ve slowly stopped as I hatched and bought more and more dragons,

I think the last kid I put thought into the name was my anniversary hatch? It’s been a bit since that haha

Most of the time I randomize, especially if they aren't permas, I'm just not creative enough haha

Usually i try to think of names relating to the character (E.G. Wisteria is purple (and has nature eyes) so they're named after a type of tree thats purple)
Sometimes i just randomize it or leave it as it was from the AH :P

for fodder I name them all stupid names like owo, uwu, stoopid, lettuceman, stuff like that.

for permas, I seriously consider names and usually have names prechosen (I'm looking for a dragon to name lullaby rn) and go from there. I'm also very picky about my permas though haha

i have 4 name categories. Names that came with the dragon, "themed" names, random names that i think are pretty, and character names. Most of mine are just random pretty ones right now :>

I have a naming strategy that varies with the different lore families in my lair

purple dragons: space/spooky names

green dragons: LOTR/the Hobbit names or nature-related names

yellow dragons: royal names

orange: fiery names

brown: random

white/pale blue/gray: icy names

blue: ocean/marine names

red: random

dark/black: spooky
