TOPIC | Why are the male poses always...

Much, much less interesting? Like, the vast majority of the breeds have the male just standing there, usually just in boring old side view. Why? Even the new Goaler breed has this. The males are in side profile and the females have a beautiful, dynamic front facing pose. Just go through the scrying workshop and see for yourself. I've always known this, but it's never fully settled in my mind before now. Do the females usually get designed first and the artists are just like "Eh" for the males?

Edit: Not saying they're better, just that across the board females tend to have more movement in their poses.

mmm, sometimes i see it as a positive. i vastly prefer male imp poses to female imp poses, mostly just because the standing is a lot sturdier and looks more natural than whatever the hell the female's doing. plus, for tundras, the female is the one that's in the boring side view.

however it is strange that most of it is males, i agree. can't really come up for any reasons why, though

It's a matter of variety, I think. A lot of people hate the female imp pose just because of how dynamic it is, and a lot of people love it for the exact same reason.

I love pings! Don't be afraid to ping me; I tend to miss a lot of replies, even if they're right after my own post, so please, please ping if you want me to see!

Bah, I hate the female gaoler pose, it looks like a cat looking for a laser pointer. I also like most of the male poses but eh, opinions

I like male coatl and male tundra (but only if it's gened- I can't stand the way basic looks on it) poses better than the female ones, but other than that I prefer the female poses
I like the Male poses more though, personally.
dynamic is great, sure, but it also has to look good (especially when there's 4264672 apparel and genes to consider) anyway i love my regal male sd/imp/gaoler poses

It feels like one pose get drawn first to show off the details of the dragon in a standard pose, then another, more dynamic pose, then they decide which pose is which gender

Taste differs too, some people do dislike the more dynamic poses, I personally don't care for female Gaolers or Imps, but I do prefer female SDs as well

Plus, it's not ALL breeds that have this problem, both Tundra poses are fairly simple, WCs and Guardians are pretty similar pose-wise, Spirals feel equally dynamic to me
