[item=standard of the lightweaver]
it’s not a flag it’s a reminder that lightweaver expects all of her children to be on their very best behavior for all of bsj and not to blind anyone
but in all seriousness that is a super cool flag yo
The stalwart warriors of the Light flight bear their colors proudly on the battlefield. This gleaming standard inspires all who see it flying proudly. (Brightshine Jubilee 2019 Holiday Item)

English proves again that it's too weird to non-native speakers! First it was "Game" and now is "Standard". [emoji=pearlcatcher deadpan size=2]
[s]Pls devs, rename them as banners or flags![/s]
huh, maybe it's just me being in a different flight but it seemed a little out of the ordinary to me
i'm sorry that's one of the worst puns i've ever made
I'll tell you what, I don't like light flight much at all, but their festivals always kick butt. Brightshine is normally host to some of the coolest skins and accents, as well as neat apparel!
I'm very happy with the standard. I'm not sure if I'll ever use it, but it's a fantastic idea and quite frankly? One we needed much sooner c:
edit: @Marilill I agree with you that English is weird, but I kind of like that they're using less popular words for things tbh. I think it's a good lesson to non-native speakers (once they figure it out, of course ^^'' ), and a learning opportunity for many to become aware of the more obscure parts of the English vocabulary C: I can definitely see where it could be confusing to someone who isn't very good with English, though.
I'm not sure if others see it this way, but I very much appreciate when another person tells me neat things like a second meaning for a word or a different way to say something in another language I'm learning. It's a super neat look into culture and the way a language works, in my opinion c::

Standard is a pretty common fantasy RPG term for a banner which specifically represents an important factions sigil and or colors.
It's a real word for a type of Heraldic Flag too, but those are a different shape. The IRL term for the one used being a 'banner' or a Gonfalon/Vexilum. But more commonly in modern english a banner is horizontally longer than it is vertical and is inscribed with words like 'Happy birthday' or 'Go team'. Also fewer people know Gonfalons or Vexilums all together.
Sooooo, gonna go ahead and say Standard is a fine name for it.

i mean, it's a fantasy site, right? plenty of odd words
Standard is used a lot in medieval fantasy and to an extent in medieval history and a lot of premodern fantasy in general where armies are involved. It’s used commonly when referring to the army’s flag, because for some reason it’s just used instead of flag or banner. I think it’s because it’s that certain type of flag? I’m not sure.
