Flight Rising Discussion

Hello! I’m thinking of making a new guide to all the flights for people who are thinking of switching, since the last flight guide is from 2015. However, in order to do that, I need info from the inside! :P [LIST=1] [*]What is the community in your flight like? [*]Do their forums move fast? Slow? Somewhere in the middle? [*]Are there any examples of flight-specific stuff in the forums? For example, when I was in Nature, they had a flower-of-the-day thread! [*]How well does your flight do at dom? What are their dom teams like? [*]What does your flight call new/old/visiting members? [*]Are there any jokes among your flight? Or unofficial mascots, such as Wind’s corgis? [*]Any other info you think might be helpful! [/LIST] ^ these are all questions you can answer to help with the guide! The intent is to bring everything up to date, so the guide will include newer things like the eye types of each flight and how their exalt pillar looks, stuff like that. Wind

1. Incredibly wholesome
2. It's not like frd but you can get conversations going, everyone's mainly on the wind disc
3. There's alot of games that you'd see on forum games, ex: (From the info hub) Steal a Dragon Game
In this game you can look at another Flight member's lair and pick a nice dragon that you'd steal if you had the chance! Then, the next person who posts will look through your lair and post a dragon of yours that they'd totally hoard for themselves if they were able to.
4. Not too much dom but I heard we have some pushes coming up this year
5. Windies, Wisps (New), I've heard the term Windbro, ect.

I'm currently in Earth!

1. The community is very homey, relaxing, and laidback. There's an aura of kindness and hospitality.

2. The forums are extremely slow. You can check into the forums every 5 days and not miss much.

3. I think there's a gigantic thread filled with goat pics that's revived every so often.

4. Earth has a very casual approach to dom. But yes, we dom often and are very good at being in the top 3.

7. We call the Earthshaker a bunch of names, but the ones I've seen users nickname him are Poprock, Rockdad, and the Rock.

I can tell a little bit about Plague :D 1. Very easily excited and friendly. Our comunity is super welcoming and we love ourselves some high quality [s]trash[/s] memes! 2. Outside of Dom, our forums can be a little sluggish. We have some long-running games/programs going on in both our general forum as well as Dom - Right now we're actually starting a Hunger Games game! :D Our Discord server is very active tho, and full of really friendly and generous people! 3. Sometimes we do. But at the moment, I don't think we have anything? 4. We are deffinetly not as big as we used to be, after many of our leaders and heavy exalters left for other flights - mostly Light and/or Earth - we've had a fall from grace. Our new team is doing really well and are pretty easy to talk to/communicate with if you have feedback or an idea. Right now, we have a thread open where people can post feedback from our push last week :D We are slowly working our way back up and regaining our strength. 5. New smols!! 88V We also sneeze on then~ 6. Plague has something with catfish and wieners. 7. Not really, except that I know our aesthetic isn't something for everyone but I personally find the lore and aesthetic around Plague very cool and very unique, however, it is the comunity which keeps me here [emoji=new friend size=1]

Thank you! I still need info on Shadow, Ice, Arcane, Fire, Water, and Lightning, so if anyone from those flights could provide some info, that would be super helpful!

Arcane here! Only a month old, so I’m not suuuper well established yet.

Community is very friendly and welcoming.,There’s huuuge chunks of text, practically books, written for newbies and informative stuff in the arcane forums.
Moderately slow. Stuff can get buried, but you get new content daily, maybe half a page of stuff.
There’s not really any specific threads, sadly, other than a charity thread the idea of which was stolen from Nature (or so I hear.) oh! I just remembered our Summon the Arcanist thread, where we yell at spacedad to try and get him to appear.
Eh, I haven’t really done any dom stuff yet so I dunno...
I didn’t know other flights had specific nicknames, guess that shows how many we have.

We welcome anyone and despite a slow forum we gather together and do some incredible things. We do have a faster discord though. Are there any examples of flight-specific stuff in the forums? For example, when I was in Nature, they had a flower-of-the-day thread! We have a trash for cash every fastival where the junk you get in the best grinding venue gets added to the dom pot with half of it being given to a lucky winner. Last round was near 1mil earned. We've also got a few items banks, a food bank and a gene bank. We also usually run some inflgiht event during pushes. How well does your flight do at dom? What are their dom teams like? Don't know about the teams but our Dom is awesome when we get the chance to go all out and aim for conquest. Profits are profitable. What does your flight call new/old/visiting members? emberlings, fireballs, etc, the things you find in the older guides. Are there any jokes among your flight? Or unofficial mascots, such as Wind’s corgis? Flambebes, that is all. Any other info you think might be helpful! I can't think fo anythign else off the top of my head

What is the community in your flight like?
I don't spend too much time in the forums but from what I have seen it's a really welcoming and helpful community.

Do their forums move fast? Slow? Somewhere in the middle?
Slow most of the time but if there's an Ice related event/dom battle they do get more active. A recent-ish example: when Gaolers were released there were a lot more people joining and a lot more activity

Are there any examples of flight-specific stuff in the forums? For example, when I was in Nature, they had a flower-of-the-day thread!
I haven't seen too many but there is the Blanket Fort that opens during certain weeks. There are a couple games but most aren't ice-themed

How well does your flight do at dom? What are their dom teams like?
I'm not too active in dom but when we do get it theres a lot of programs and groups to help out people with any level of experience in dom. I've heard that we used to get dom a lot more than we do now though

What does your flight call new/old/visiting members?
Icicles is one of the most common nicknames but I've also seen Snowflakes/Snowballs used

Are there any jokes among your flight? Or unofficial mascots, such as Wind’s corgis?
Cats and puns are everywhere, Icedad never talking to his kids, and his leg floofs
