TOPIC | Lore exalting?

I have one primal I nabbed off fodder floor with some...interesting colors. From her first clutch (that I did not nest) she had a goat baby, and from her second clutch (that she wegged me on) she had a facet baby. I naturally have to work her extreme eye luck into some lore for her. So, she went from fodder, to fodder breeder, to lorebaby...but I have this facet baby with very much *not* matchy eyes that I don't particularly want. I'm toying with the idea of exalting her and using that in the mother's lore, but I can't decide if I should or not.

Long explanation over, what do you think about exalting a derg purely for another derg's lore? Have you done or seen that before and liked it?

I did it for two of my dragons (they’re siblings)
I exalted their parents and brother because they die in their backstory

Yeah, happens pretty much every time I exalt any dragon that I've had for a long time. I'm always too attached to let go completely

I don't personally exalt my own dragons, but I do believe that it holds some interesting opportunities for lore. If you think it is the best route, and would rather exalt them yourself than sell them to someone else, then I say go for it.

I'm actually dealing with a personal crisis of whether or not to exalt a specific dragon right now! She's absolutely gorgeous, but she has no place in my lore. Her DAUGHTER, however, has the Big Lore Piece(tm) that my clan is going to revolve around. Part of her lore involves her never knowing her mother and her father refusing to talk about it. I just don't know if I should exalt the mother or give her away :(
what do you think about exalting a derg purely for another derg's lore? Have you done or seen that before and liked it?
I like it! I think it's a pretty good way to make sure backstories are wrapped up neatly. It can be a bit weird to read lore that goes (hypothetical example): "X's mother, Y, died in a freak accident," only to click on Y and read about them living happily in another clan and still keeping in touch with all their children. I guess you could still explain this in lore some other way; maybe X is estranged from Y and Y is trying to reconnect with her kids, for example. But it can be pretty difficult and might not align with your character's personality. There are a couple of instances where I actually regret not doing this. After finishing some projects, I tossed all the breeding pairs onto the AH. It was during a dom battle, and I was thinking they'd get snapped up and exalted...Nope! Two of them got snagged and name-changed. Really messed up the naming scheme there. At least they were able to find homes for a while, and it's nothing that writing "That never happened!" can't fix. x'D

Not exactly exalting, but still getting rid of a dragon for lore: I was doing a lair cleaning, and one of my Lv. 25s didn't make the cut. After trying to trade him and not getting any bites, I gifted him to a newbie. In lore, he tried to stage a mutiny but failed, and now he's a wanted criminal, so he's taking refuge in another clan. :P

I’ve done something similar to the one above AND just straight-up exalting the dragons :P

One of them was sold in a raffle; and he’s still mentioned in parts of the lore. Not by name, but the simpler “that dragon” or “my brother” or “Elyss’s son” normally filled its place.
The rest of the dragons that are mentioned in lore but aren’t in my lair...were actually exalted a while ago before I decided on that lore. Then I kind of just used exalting as an excuse to death and rolled with it because my progen will never be happy again XP
