Flight Rising Discussion

Hi everyone! So I am wanting to change my flight. I still have until October to change over but I want to decide now so I can start to work on changing my lore. Below I wrote my thoughts on different aspects of my top 4 contenders. I love the Water Flight and EXTREMELY LOVE the oracle theme as well as loving water (like streams and the ocean) in real life, but I just can’t connect to it. I’ve tried to get involved and stuff but I still can’t get into it. I may come back to it in the future, but right now I’m ready for some change. I’ve already been in Light and Fire flights and I can honestly eventually see myself returning to Light down the line but right now I’m a wanderer. So any thoughts would be super helpful. I’ll list all the sections of thought process in three posts as to help make it less of a wall of text. Thank you so much for any help!

Also if this isn’t where this belongs please tell me! I’m still kind of very confused by the forums. ;-;

Arcane vs Nature vs Shadow vs Ice


General Eyes
Arcane: I like them a good bit. I especially love dark sclera, unusual and rare.
Nature: I think they’re okay. I like green, it is pretty and looks good on most dragons. I like uncommon the best and do not really like the rare.
Shadow: I LOVE all Shadow eyes. I think they are all very pretty and look great on almost any dragon.
Ice: Ice eyes may be my favourite of all eyes. I just find the so dainty and pretty. They look good on every dragon ever.


2.) Deity
Arcane: Do not like. He freaks me out a lot I don’t know why.
Nature: She’s cool but the tree growing from her kind of freaks me out. Like doesn’t that hurt Glademomma?
Shadow: Puddlemom!! I think of every deity she is my favourite by far. I just love her pose and find her so beautiful to look at. I also love her colours.
Ice: THE TINY EARS SCARE ME. But besides that he’s a pretty cool dude. Haha. Get it, cool? I love his fluff.

3.) Lore
Arcane: They are dreamers interested in magical energy. I like this a lot and it fits pretty well with my general ideas for clan lore.
Nature: I LOVE THEIR LORE. It doesn’t quite fit with my current lore plan but I would be more than happy to change it to better fit the druid theme. I myself LOVE nature and animals so I think it would be amazing to have that incorporated with my dragons.
Shadow: I’m not super into the trickster theme but I can kinda get with it as well as easily plan out a map to fit my lore into it.
Ice: Not a fan of the rigid theme but it’s definitely not the worst by far. The collecting part is fun.

4.) Nests
Arcane: Not a fan. I just don’t like how the eggs look against the nest. The eggs are just weird.
Nature: They’re alright. They look pretty cozy.
Shadow: I love the nests and eggs except for the fungus. I HATE fungus. It freaks me the heck out and I’m scared of it. I don’t know why, don’t judge me. But I do love how it glows.
Ice: PRETTY. One of my favourite nests and eggs. It makes me feel all warm inside, ironic as it is.

5.) Backgrounds
Arcane: Kind of like it, kind of hate it. I don’t really like the pink spikes. Like I just can’t immerse myself into it because I can’t really picture the size of it and like if it’s connected. I think if it was a darker pink like the eye colour, I’d like it more.
Nature: So my friend who got me into Flight Rising was actually in the nature flight so I saw this background a LOT when I watched them play. I got pretty bored of it and they joined Wind so I saw that a lot as well and I was bored by that even more.
Shadow: The background is a teensy bit bland for how beautiful the territory itself is but I do enjoy it enough to look at it every day for sixth months.
Ice: I LOVE the ice background. It’s just so so beautiful and makes me so so happy to look at.

6.) Themes
Arcane: I LOVE the galaxy/spacey kind of theme and I am so into it. I also love the dark pinks as they are so pretty.
Nature: I love the flora and fauna theme of nature and the rich earth tones are pretty cool.
Shadow: I love the spooky dark theme and all of the dark purples and grays.
Ice: I love the snow and cold as well as pine trees so this flight gets an A+ from me.


7.) Festivals
Arcane: The Starfall Celebration is pretty cool and I do love the magical shards. I feel like the naming on both could be a weensy bit better though. The skins and items connected to the festival are always pretty neat and interesting which I do like.
Nature: The Greenskeeper Gathering is pretty cool and I tend to LOVE the apparel for the festivals, especially the most recent. I literally have seven of the Gladegift Garlands. I have a problem, don't @ me.
Shadow: The Trickmurk Circus is such a creative and fun name which I adore. The shimmering pinecones are great. The apparel is alright and the familiars are always fun.
Ice: The Crystalline Gala is most likely the best name of all festivals. It’s so dainty and fits perfectly for the flight. I usually like the apparel and love the familiars.


8.) Territories
Arcane: Overall I do not like how small and unconnected the Starfall Isles look. I get that they are supposed to be isles and not just a giant island but like I just don’t look how blank everything looks in general. The Crystalspine Reaches just look a little too empty for my liking. Maybe if they had trees it would give me a better perspective but like I just can’t picture how big they are as they are naked. I LOVE the Starwood Strand. I think it is immensely creative and beautiful. My only complaint is that they are not shown on the map that well, I think it would look so so pretty on the map blooming. Not really a fan of the Focal Point I can’t pinpoint it on the map. It doesn’t match the mini picture on the map so I am lost. It’s just a bit bland. The Observatory’s description terrifies me. If I stumbled upon the Arcanist frantically scribbling with all his limbs I would die from fear. For the ancient lair status I find the observatory to be kind of a let down. If I join Arcane I will be VERY excited for the map revamp to see it become more detailed as well as being able to pick where I live as I definitely would love to stay in the starwood strand.
Nature: My only huge real complaint is how there isn’t more colours in the map. In some spots there is pretty different coloured flowers which I love and would appreciate if they were all over the map. Maybe in the map revamp this will happen? A girl can hope. I enjoy the Everbloom Gardens, they’re okay not too great, but okay. The Gladeveins are so beautiful as I love streams and rivers. They make me very happy to look at. The Shrieking Wilds are kinda bland but they’re alright. The Behemoth is okay just somewhat boring for the center of the territory.
Shadow: I LOVE Shadow’s territory on the map. The colours are perfection and the details are just so beautiful. One of my favourite things is how cool all of the area names are. The Driftwood Drag is great and the description gives my literal chills at how deceptive it is. The Wispwillow Grove and the Foxfire Bramble both have great names and are pretty neat areas. The Forum of the Obscured Crescent is cool but I hate the pollution stuff. It would be great if not trash filled.
Ice: Hi I LOVE the Ice flight territory. It’s so amazing how they made it so diverse rather than just being one huge block of ice. I feel really connected with it. The Frigid Floes makes me kinda sad because the poor Ice flight must feel so bad losing their territory. The Snowsquall Tundra is by far my favourite part of the territory as in real life, I personally find the Tundra very interesting. Being very pretty is also a plus. The Cloudscrape Crags are also beautiful, creative and interesting. The Fortress of Ends is neat, although I’m not sure how I feel about the porision just yet, although I can see it in my lore.

9.) Primal Eyes
Arcane: I LOVE THEM. They may be my favourite primal eyes actually. I think they’re so creative and beautiful. Just like I’m so glad Flight Rising exists and thank you to the creators for making such a beautiful game. I can literally never say thank you enough to them. I’m so grateful ;-;. Oh wow that went on a tangent.
Nature: I like them on some dragons and dislike them on others. I personally think if they just made the entire eye a flower it would look cooler.
Shadow: I love the drippiness. It’s so pretty and unique and I think it represents the flight’s deity possibly the best of all primal’s since it’s literally Puddlemom’s eyes.
Ice: I am fifty-fifty on liking and disliking these primal eyes. I just feel like they’re very simple and kind of cute but kind of bland.



10.) Size
Arcane: 62,276. 2nd largest flight. Oh wow, they big. I usually prefer to be in smaller flights as I feel anxious because bigger ones are kinda scary because of how loud and proud they are.
Nature: 42,926. 5th smallest flight. I love that of all my choices they are the smallest. I feel like they probably have a pretty cozy community but still put up a fight for dom.
Shadow: 68,109. The biggest flight. As I mentioned with Arcane, big flights scare me. But I feel like Shadow may be close knit.
Ice: 43,825. 6th largest flight. Not too big, not too small.


11.) Overall
Arcane: There are some things I LOVE and some I dislike, as expected. Ever since I first joined, Arcane has always been a flight I considered switching to but never did due to A.) the map, and, B.) the scariness of its size. I think it could be a very good fit for me and I could see myself really loving it there.
Nature: Overall I could see myself loving being a part of the Nature flight for awhile and greatly enjoying writing lore for my Clan to fit it. I think I would like it there but I can’t see myself staying there forever.
Shadow: Overall I could easily see myself being happy in Shadow for at least six months maybe even more. It’s very fun and I think I would be more willing to participate in forum activities here as being in such a big flight may help me out of my shell. I hope that I can get over my fear of fungus while here.
Ice: Overall I really like the Ice flight and could see myself here for six months. I think it could be fun possibly. It’s pretty neat and I think it could be an interesting experience.

You kinda wrote out the answer for yourself! ;D You seem to be leaning towards Ice or Shadow. (Even though I did see a bit more positivity towards Ice)

Also, here's a trick once you have two flights left and you're having trouble deciding. Flip a coin. Flight A being tails and Flight B being heads. Flip the coin. If you feel a bit of "Awwwww...." you like the other flight better and wouldn't let yourself admit it. If you get excited ("Yay!!!") for the flight that got picked, go with it! You secretly like this one better!
