TOPIC | How to Stay Active?
I’ve been on this site for more than two years, and have really been having trouble staying active here. I check in everyday and that’s about it. I don’t do Fairgrounds or the Coli anymore, and I don’t make forum posts nearly as much as I used to. I’ve got loads of kg and I don’t really know what to do with it.

So basically, what I’m asking is: how do you stay active on this site? What do you do to keep yourself entertained here? A lot of the stuff has just gotten monotonous to me, but I still don’t want to take a hiatus on the chance that I might never come back.

Make a long but achievable goal. Try to get every single non-retired familiar, unlock your whole hibernal den, or start a big breeding project. Leaving a goal is hard, and it can make you motivated to play more! My current goal is to get every single swipp familiar without buying any of the mats. It's been hard, but every bit of progress I make feels so good! [emoji=ridgeback happy size=2]

@LucidWhispers
Part of this depends on whether you're motivated to spend time in Flight Rising intrinsically or extrinsically. Do you decide to come onto Flight Rising out of enjoyment with the game's mechanic's in and of itself or do you come because of the community?

Once you've figured this out you can decide whether a community project or a personal project would be more motivating for you. Community projects might be helping out your flight with dom, running a giveaway bank, or dragon adoption center. Personal projects count more towards breeding projects and challenges such as bottlenecking or creating a subspecies.

You could also try changing flights or working with a radically different species/color/gene set to shake things up as well.

But all-in-all, if you're no longer finding enjoyment in Flight Rising, it could be time to retire. No one game can last you're whole life. There are other sources of entertainment out there that might have more value to you. Moving on from Flight Rising doesn't make it any less important to your life. But sometimes other parts of our lives take priority.

When I didn’t feel motivated I purged my lair, redid my lore and it really helped! You could always take a little break from FR too, and wait until you WANT to play. There’s no point in playing if you don’t feel like it, flight rising I sing a chore, it should be a hobby. If it doesn’t make you happy, don’t do it!

The main thing that keeps my interest here is usermade accents; I buy a cute accent and then try to find a gen one to gene up to match it.

And I've got a thread in the Quests and Challenges forum with all of my goals, and I post my day-to-day coli drops there, it usually motivates me to spend more time in the coli so that I have more drops to post. :P

I do lose interest from time to time though and drift off to play something else, but I always end up coming back eventually.

Rule one, if you're not having fun, and it feels like you're forcing yourself to play, then take a break from this game. You may just be burnt out. If you come back to the game and you still feel like you're not enjoying it, then it may be time to quit. Anyway, aside from that, some stuff you can do are, like others said, setting goals for yourself, checking out the forums (the community is amazing), or start breeding projects.

aw heck now i have nothing to put here again
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I think I will take a break from FR for a little while, and then come back to see if I still can find a bit of excitement from here. I’ll keep all of your suggestions in mind when I do come back, though. Thank you.
