I'm curious how people mentally picture who is calling the shots per clan.
Is it your first dragon? Is it another dragon? A familiar? Human in Sornieth you? Real world you? Or other?
When I first started playing I personified my "username" as a non-descript being who was the leader, before using it as a clan name and casting role of leader to my first dragon.
Did anyone else do anything like that I wonder?

I originally had it as my custom progen, but then she transferred leadership to Sannom (who is my avatar) because she was cursed.

In lore, my lair has no hierarchy or any sort of leadership whatsoever. My progens actually don't exist in lore, either... But the creation of my lair? A couple dragons found and holed up in a giant mysterious cave for protection from the Abiding Boneyard and decided to stay there indefinitely. New dragons come and go from time to time, with some staying and some not staying.

My clan lead is my progen, I myself, don't exist, as dragons can care for themselves well enough. Well she would say that, there were others that may have wanted intervention, but alas.

Tau, as I never really loved my progens I like them but I don't wana see them tooo much
Tau was my first purchase and it was in the wind auc house for 10kt as I inputed what my fav breeds were (After looking at the wiki) and put rtb and Ta was one of the first options and I immediantly dropped 10kt. His mate, muertaposa was found in a similar fasion but I searched only for females.
And well, look where we are now.

My progens were my clan founders and original leaders, but the leadership has expanded to be an entire council which consists of other important gen1's. Progens are still head of the council though.

My progens are my leaders in lore, but it's Darkstalker who calls the shots because Tabian just wants to be friends and make sure everybody's full of delicious food. However, they pretty much let dragons come and go as they please, as long as they don't bother anyone else.
