oh boy.... one of my greatest conflicts is some early-play breeding
my lore was very very loose and in the works when i was new, and i just wanted to bred, so i just kinda tossed some dragons together. kinda wish some of those dragons are unbred, but, ehh....
sandmint was one such dragon that got tossed around. i ended up breeding him with
orre, for a reason i cannot remember anymore, but they gave me one egg and i kept her; i named her
citrine. i kept her because orre would have loved having a daughter, and this ended up turning into a lot of lore of citrine being the jewel of orre's life, and then citrine feeling smothered and unheard, abandoning her mother in anger; one day i hope they'll reconnect but that's still a wip, lol
but the issue is... well, the way that i see all these characters, orre is older (not elder), and sandmint is a young adult, and well, citrine also is kind of at that "just now young adult" age with a boyfriend X_X so it's kind of awkward and i have to flub ages a lot, especially since citrine was effectively illegitimate. it's bothered me for a long time LOL so i just kind of have to go.... dragon ages are weird....
to clarify it's not that i'm saying sandmint was underage, it's that i don't want him to be an older adult since he's supposed to be quite a bit younger than
tevinter and
savil; tevinter's of breeding age, but his kids are uh... grown up now too...
see the biggest issue is the way aging up in the game works, so when i have game-defined adult dragons for years, it's hard to not think of them as adults in lore x_x my reasonings/excuses for these are "dragons live a long time and so youth is extended" and "dragons age up fast despite this". i mean they're fantasy dragons, i suppose that'd make sense? i guess in translation this would mean dragons live for centuries or even thousands of years, but grow up within maybe a century or less? i dunno, i just don't want to retcon all the good lore i made individually without these interconnected conflicts >:T
as for another lore mess up, i had found the helidae imp subspecies and grabbed a couple i liked; two were fodder and i was going to exalt them, but i felt strong lore about one wanting to stay with her new love and her sister consenting and supporting them before leaving to be exalted; and now i have
asheera and
naza!
....except, well, one day i was assaying bloodlines with some other imps i found on the ah a while later to see how closely related they all were, and found out these two are distantly related X_X like... grandmother twice removed or something? so uh. that's completely ignored lolol!!!! this is what i get for shipping two of the same subspecies together >:C
then lastly there's
treesong, who i had established as a lesbian and had a girlfriend, but then accidentally bred her with someone's dragon who was renting my nests x_x in my defense they were all tree dragons and his mate also stared with a T, so i just kinda... slipped and didn't notice??? it ended up with one egg which i think is cute that it's her Only kid, and i wrote it in her lore to account for it; i tweaked it when i replaced her girlfriend (i never wrote her old one into her lore), but it at least was turned into something positive :'D what was cute though was her son matched her entirely save for his primary gene, which was his dad's, as if it were just the little thing that would reminder her of him
this got long WHOOPS but i feel like i've let off steam LOL
