TOPIC | So how do people use the dressing room?
1 2
This may seem like kind of an odd discussion but i'm curious as to how people make use of the dressing room feature. Do most people just use it to try on clothing they own or do they put together future outfits with it?

I'm mostly curious because I see the amazing potential of useing it to design outfits to work towards for a dragon but I can't for the life of me manage to use it efficiently. I mean is it just me or do you have to have every piece of apparel memorised in order to find anything? Is there some master list of apparel by color, type and vibe out there that people use to dress dragons or have they literally memorised the name of every apparel piece out there and can just pull it up no sweat?

This has had me wondering for a while cause i often open up the dressing room to plan an outfit and then go ' oh right there's no way to sort all this stuff and I don't know where to begin.' and just X out lol

I memorized all the apparel pieces and usually just use keywords in the search for a quick result. I make outfits made of apparel I already have to see how it looks, and sometimes I’ll plan outfits to complete in the near future. Then I usually just make random outfits for the heck of it, because I love making outfits. I mean, it’s the dressing room, I feel like it’s somewhat limited in how you can use it haha.

Edit: But I remember when you didn’t have the dressing room, so you would browse the AH for apparel to make an outfit and hope what you bought would look good on the dragon.

Yeah I had the same issue, but I found some apparel lists in the guides section that have really helped! here is the one I found most recently
but there's also the apparel section of this list, and this is super useful for clever layering tricks

I use it to plan outfits for my existing dergs. But I haven't memorized the apparel, so I often don't even know the name or the fact that the apparel exists. I use the search function sometimes.

Does that Pokemon fandragon exist yet? Check out this thread, where you can find Pokemon fandragons in one place :)
I tend to sort it by ID and pick one of the categories, then browse through all the options and click on anything I think my look good on that particular dragon for that category, then hide all of my selected apparel once it's on and go through them one by one to check which one I like the best, if any.

I'm not the best at making outfits, and it usually takes me a long time (and some help haha) to figure out something that I actually like and want to work towards.

I plan all my outfits in it! I use Eclipse's Apparel catalogue for stuff I'm unsure of, but I think I know at least one item from every apparel set, which means I can find just about all of them.

I think it could definitely be more accessible though, with organization and finding apparel... Especially on mobile. You can't mess around with layering on mobile unless you delete and place apparel again... (hence why I'm never going to try it on my computer, because I don't want to get attached to ~luxury~)

Check out my adopts at
Infernal Beasts,
my lore-based
Scatterquest,
or my skin shop,
Dracopunk!
I usually use it to dress my fest celebratory dragon.

I got to the wiki to look up the fest apparel and if not I go to MP to give me ideas.

Some stuff I stumble accidentally like the Eerie Cyan when typing the name.

I need the Tailclasps for 1 dragon but hopefully I can brew the recipe this Night of the Nocturne if it returns.

Rarely do I use apparel from Gem MP but I did it when looking at sandals for a fan derg.

Wiki also has a list of all apparel which I rarely browse on it.
