FR team: Experiments and revamps steampunk set, making it look less girly and shiny and more refined and battle ready, or at the very least allowed the art to appear more professional and refined

You certainly don’t HAVE to love the set, but I find it upsetting that anger is stemming from an art revamp that’s overall an attempt to improve! While it is true that some dragons look odd now in the new apparel, was it the apparel that you enjoyed, or its flaws? Was it the apparel that made the dragon, or was it your love for the dragon that helped you overlook some errors and decide perfection?
I feel sorry if your dragon doesn’t look as flattering in the updated armor. But this hate and bitterness isn’t needed. It’s kind of what WE wanted, but perhaps not quite in the way we expected. Once again, this isn’t a “staff is perfect you have to love how the armor looks now” post. Not at all. You hate the new armor? Alright. However, this is a “Hey! Please don’t bash each other or staff for a minor change in some armor that can be fixed by a slight change in apparel to better suit your aesthetic and playstyle!”
Funny that this gear can be sort of associated with Lightning. Times always shift, but it’s your choice whether or not you will adapt, or if you’ll get stuck and overheat. Their whole message brought into some apparel. Well, minus perhaps a few sparks and comments about coffee and work.
So please. I don’t care if you dislike the set, but do NOT be mean to each other. Negative opinions are allowed, negative actions are not.

I personally don't mind the new look, i think it's mostly great
the wings bother me a bit tho... especially since the new piece and old wings seem to refuse to look good together on certain breeds(female mirrors especially)
but otherwise it looks great

I like the update!
I had the wings on one of my noc females and decided I don't like how the new ones look. Just swapped them for the wing armour and she looks perfect again. Looking forward to experimenting with the sets on some of my other dragons the old art didn't work with.

Uh, was there that many user who took negative action?
Because i only saw people complaining about having to redo their dragon outfit (understandable, i also live in fear of art rewamp) or how the new set is giving a drastic change of tone,which isn't good even if it do look better.
Give it a week and i can assure you, you will see less people complaining and more use of the new steampunk set.

Post like this would be appropriate when they rewamped roundhorns which i'm still salty about lmao but not really for steampunk? I saw a very few people actually complaining about it <:I sure it's a change and it messed some stuff up for some folks but.. not that hard

yeah, some people are almost demanding the old steampunk be kept as 'steampunk legacy'
that's gotta really hurt to the artists who spent time trying to make a new revamp that'd make people happy and even added in and gave away for free new pieces to make up for the change, to have so many declare they hate it and it was fine as it was
but as long as enough people go for the tin set, i smell money to be made, so i'm not fussed. never really used the steampunk set anyway, it isn't really my style.

How was the steampunk set "girly"?
I'm personally very fond of the revamp because after 5 years, seeing the same set drop from chests gets boring, so a little refresh makes me want to try it out again on some dragons.

It wasn't done for the old dented armor, ribbons, or cowboy sets. I'm not seeing it being a thing this time.
I didn't have any dragons with the steampunk apparel on them before(just had no mechanics really), now I might take a look at them again.
