I'm sure I'm far from the first person to ask for help with this, but I really can't decide, even after reading the Ultimate Flight Guide thread. I've always been in Ice, but after returning from a long, long hiatus, I'm longing to start over and settle somewhere a little less cold. I wasn't all that social either, so this doubles as a good opportunity to get a fresh start in a nice community.
I'm a writer that leans more towards the lighthearted, but I'm also very laid back and don't think I have the energy that some of the artsy flights seem to have (I was looking at Light, but all the glitter seems a bit exhausting...). I'm also not like...HUGE huge into dominance? But I enjoy the atmosphere and liked to push once every month or two or so when I was last around.
Can yall tell me more about the vibe your flight has? Right now I'm looking more at Earth and Nature, but that's highly subject to change.

At the moment earth is the dom POWERHOUSE. If you go into earth, expect dom perks every other week, or even consecutively, haha!

I’d suggest Wind! We’re very creative as a flight, in my opinion. We’re also the most lighthearted! Who else has a capitol city/area/thing that’s literally a big kite city in the sky? Nobody! Dom can either be really big or really small depending on how much you’re into it. I personally don’t participate, but lots of others do! I hear that it’s pretty fun!

I am supremely and intensely biased, but in my humble opinion Earth is definitely the way to go!
Our flight is small, close-knit, friendly, and generous. We skew a little older, probably because younger players tend to enjoy the more overtly "cool" flights like Shadow, Arcane, or Lightning. Our territory is built in broad strokes, which gives tons of room for personal Lore building and unique lair structures, but also requires a bit of imagination. I've seen people with vast underground libraries, desert warrior clans, trading posts, rangers, you name it and Earth has room for it. C:
Our Dom reputation is built more on our general attitude towards exalting than any Flight-wide structured format. It's the primary way most of us make money, and there isn't really an expectation or pressure to participate in Dom if that's not what you're in to. However, if you decide to dive in we DO have a really awesome team of Dom leaders who put together a bunch of fun ways to push for things other than profit; in-flight raffles, public buys, coli scavenger hunts, and our yearly Rockbreaker's food basket gift bombs come immediately to mind, although there are lots of other events, too!
Our aesthetic is pretty awesome as well. A lot of people tend to write us off as drab, brown, and dirt, which couldn't be farther from the truth! We have the widest range of eye colors, ranging from pale yellow to chocolatey brown to black, and our desert setting allows for saturated tones like the terracottas and golds of, say, Antelope Canyon (google it!) to the rich polished gemstones of turquoise, amethyst, rubies, and emeralds.
My own lair features oodles of different colors, and is themed on a travelling caravan that escorts pilgrims on their way to Earthshaker while making trading stops along the way. I've been a member of Earth Flight since I joined nearly 5 years ago, and I love it here so much I don't ever really see myself even vacationing in another area. C: I hope we get to see you here too!

I didn't think Light was high energy or high maintenance back when I was there, but I didn't really bond with anyone there either. I do most of my bonding in casual chatting about Dominance in our discord, or just talking to FRD as a whole instead of being limited to earth.
If I do see fellow pebbles, they're often very nice. I agree that they're mature, but I think regardless of age, everyone is very welcoming and into FR. c:

Ancient ruins that are the origin of all dragons, caverns and tunnels to explore, crystal deposits to hoard, etc. And if those don't appeal to you, there's nothing stopping you from making something up as well. If you want to be somewhere less cold, Fire is an excellent choice.
I haven't been in any other flight community, but Fire has a lot of friendly people in it. We have (burnt) cookies, blue tundra dragons, and plenty of interesting scenery. When it comes to dominance, while we don't push often, when we conquest, we usually end up winning.

Nature flight is pretty relaxed, and the aesthetic is lots of greenery and flowers with maybe a river here and there. I don't generally hang around too much and get involved, but the forums for the flight are pretty relaxed, and a lot of people play different games, (apparently including dragon Uno? I think I'm finally set on Earth, partly because of the vibe and partly because I've already got a half-formed clan idea I'm growing attached to, hahah. And the eyes are so cute!
