So I'm trying to draw my female fae when I noticed something I hadn't paid attention to before. There's this strange growth thing coming from her head and I can't figure out what it is! It's not part of her tail or her wing -- what is it?

Is it part of her ear/fin? She doesn't have one on the other side... Any ideas?

I can't find the thread at the moment, but I believe it was decided or revealed that it's actually the neck that's.. curving all long and weirdly. >.> I'll never be able to unsee it after someone pointed it out. XD

That's always bugged me doing fay skins, it seems to be the underside of the neck... I'v been coloring it as such anyway, but it just looks odd... probably because the fin cuts through it and makes it look disproportional. `~`

I know it's the neck, but it always really bugged me, you shouldn't be able to see it as it would be behind the fin.
Oh well, we can hardly grudge one little mistake considering how beautiful all the artwork on this site is. :3

Well that means you assume the fins are double layered on the ears. When it seem that it is actually that they have two small ear/cheek fins, and then the larger fins along the neck itself.

georgieanna oh I hadn't even thought of that! That makes a lot more sense! It does look like the fin on his right is actually coming out of the neck, but that makes the fin on his left look misplaced or curved wrong, idk it just looks off but that makes a lot more sense visually.

Sharkalou -- I think I just ruined Faes for myself! So it's neck is an "S"? That's so weird! I'll never be able to unsee this and I think I may have to change her breed! XD

Xylom: Sorry? Forum search is exactly perfected and it very well could have been that I wasn't even here a couple months ago. I didn't think there was anything wrong with asking something that I didn't know and couldn't find the answer to. I guess I'll reread those forum rules.
