I’m trying to figure out how often bosses appear, and how often they drop familiars. While this is rare, the question is how many times you need to fight a boss for this to happen. I’m going to run most of the battles myself, but if anyone wants to help please ping me.

If you are helping, all you need to do is battle in a venue with a boss. Keep track of how many battles you have fought, and how many times a boss has appeared.
Example:
Arena
Battles fought: 46
Featherback encounters: 1
Undying featherback: 2
Boss familiar drop: 0

If you are sharing results, fight at least 10 battles before reporting

@Tsunamiscale I'm going to train a few dragons in the Mire tonight. I'll tell you how many battles I fought and with what frequency the toads appear. I'll edit this when I do. ^_^

Molten Wartoad: 0

Anytime! I'll try to keep track of any venue that has a boss that I go into. I need to do some serious grinding soon, and I desperately want to get the hydras, so you'll probably get some info on that too. :3

Today I dorked around in the Blooming Grove to get some White Cerdae Gold Pendants. Here are my stats:

Battles: 263
Mossy Pohip: 6
Blooming Pohip: 7
Boss Familiar Drops: 0 (T_T)

@Tsunamiscale I run into boss monsters... a lot (or so I've been told). I'll try and help you keep track when I level my dragons today/in following days.

Mire Battles Fought: 54
Wartoad: 4
Molten Wartoad: 1

The statistics do tend to vary, but I'd be happy to share my data from a few bosses that I have. Note that the number of encounters is based on the number of their drops that I have in my hoard, so the numbers aren't likely exact. Also, may I recommend taking a look at this forum, it's the Boss Hunting Challenge, where people have recorded their data as they look for bosses, so you might be able to get some data by looking through the thread.

Wave Sweeper: 168 fights, 2 fams

Roc: 90 fights, 1 fam
Crowned Roc: 98 fights, 1 fam

Hawksbill Goliath: 147 fights, 1 fam
Crystalhide Jester: 148 fights, 3 fams

Wartoad: 227 fights, 1 fam
Molten Wartoad: 254 fights, 1 fam

Goldenbeast: 461 fights, 1 fam
