I live in Northern California, so I'm not getting affected, but it's so sad and I really hope everyone is doing alright. I have friends in that area. ;^;
It sucks that fire season is starting so early this year, but this drought has been awful.

I live in a bowl of fire, my city is surrounded by all the cities that are on fire, and the air is filled with ash. I just hope everybody can evacuate from the surrounding cities

I live in Laguna Beach, but I just happened to be visiting my parents right now, who live in Carlsbad. Their house is overlooking a hill and flames are visible on the horizon, there are huge swathes of smoke in the sky. Luckily, my family and friends all live in a relatively safe area, in fact it's a current evacuation zone. So we should be fine. It's a bit eerie how life just goes on unless you're in the immediate vicinity. Going about daily life while the hills on the horizon are on fire. Also drove past the Camp Pendleton fire on the way here and saw the flames up pretty close. Hooray SoCal!

I'm thankful that my Cali friends live in the LA area, away from where the fires are anyway. I'm so sorry to everyone affected by it.
Last year we had a fire here in Vegas - Vegas area anyways. It was up at Mt. Charleston, near the area where some people actually live on the mountain. It took many days for them to put it out. I wanna say over a week. It was quite a sight to see though! The sunset looked like a volcano :0

Okay, I take back what I said about NorCal being unaffected by wildfires.
A fire started in the city next to mine this evening, and destroyed 5 houses and damaged 3 others. That's nothing compared to what's going on down south, but it's pretty major for my area. We usually only get small fires alongside the freeway from people throwing out their cigarettes and such.

I feel like I should be panicking right now. Heh, I'm more worried about flooding at the moment! (Over near the Mississippi River *stares at swelling river*) Hope y'all are okay! And if not, sad face. D:
Also, I'm gonna try to send some of our rain over to ya! We've got some to spare.

My best friend was visiting me when the fires started around where she lives in San Marcos. I haven't heard from her since we got her on the train home the other day, sounded like her family was getting ready to possibly evacuate. There aren't any near my house yet but we usually get a few.
