I realize this series is very....not suited for everyone but is there any other fans around?
I love it, the style of the manga is just beautiful and the story is amazing. Tsurumi is crazy ** and I love him
Before you decide to search it up, please know that it: contains a lot of gore/human mutilation and animal deaths so be at risk.

i actually just started gk last night and i'm only only on the 20th chapter so far but i absolutely love it. sugimoto and asirpa's friendship is so cute
to be honest i wouldn't be surprised if golden kamuy became one of my fave mangas of all time at this rate

I'm....so surprised that someone knows it/shows interest in it. I honestly thought this topic was going to be disregarded forever.

Be careful to not read it too quickly! I did that mistake and the latest chapter has such a cliffhanger I am....so sad....
Sugimoto is the best, I love their relationship so much.
Esp when Asirpa shows him all the food prep. The faces are hilarious.
Honestly same, it quickly made the top of my lists for fave manga. It's so consistent throughout the entire series and it's the first in a long time that I read entirely through without wanting to switch to something else.

I hope you enjoy it! It can get a bit heavy on information at points later in the story but if you like the frst couple chapters I'm sure you'll love it.

character expressions are honestly incredible in gk. they're hilarious one but wow i really hope that i'm one day able to do faces half as expressive as noda's. i just got up to the part where asirpa finally tries the miso and it killed me
i also think it's pretty neat that noda actually researches ainu culture and that he has his own consultant too. most media i know of (especially manga) doesn't really care to be too accurate or respectful with their portrayals of certain cultures, though i haven't gotten too far in the manga so i don't know how it is later on

They stick true with it throughout the series, it's one of the main reasons why I was so shocked by just how good this manga is. There's even a part where they use that exact aspect (not knowing the culture) for a certain thing that happens, so it was pretty fascinating to read.

We don't have those around here! We have Indigo stores (chapters) but when I looked it said they had it on register :D so I plan to go after work tomorrow and check it out.
Do you only read the books and not online anywhere? I don't think I'd be able to hold off not knowing what happens :v I always read ahead of publications.
