My mom loved death note, watched the anime with me, and even was reading the manga. Which is huge for her because she is /NOT/ a comic person.
She got mad and stoped reading When L ended up being killed. I tried to convince her to continue but she wanted no part of it lol.

Well. My dad randomly walked in eating an orange right after I started the third season of Avatar the Last Airbender, and got really involved if that counts. He watched the whole third season with me, and then watched the first two seasons. He liked Sokka best. Pretty much everything else anime bothers him, except this one mecha anime that he liked that I stopped watching...
My mom likes anime though. Her official favorite show is Ouran High School Host Club. She's watched most of the ones I have, and actually liked Black Butler better than I did. She talked me into watching the second season, which neither of us actually liked. She has a huge dislike for comics of any kind, but she's been considering reading Blue Exorcist because she liked the anime until the second arc (which I explained to her was really different in the manga,) and My Love Story because she is greatly amused by the covers. She liked the first season of Tokyo Ghoul so I've been summarizing the volumes of the manga that pick up where that left off for her.
Oh, it might be worth noting that both my parents will be turning 61 soon. O.O I have older parents than most people my age...

Nayiru - Did you mention Light's lovely bloody death? That's what motivated me to keep watching once I stopped hoping the whole thing was one giant dream sequence. (This only works if it's as wonderful in the manga as it is in the anime. I haven't read the manga, so I don't actually know.)
