It's always fun to hear how some people got their nicknames, especially when they're really "out there"! :p

To start off, I got my nickname of Squid Queen because I was at the CNE in Toronto this summer. I had to use my wheelchair because I couldn't walk that much. My girlfriend's mom bought us both squid hats from a booth because they were AMAZING and super cute. (I'll have to post a picture sometime.) We had seen the booth owner wearing one and we like instantly died. So my girlfriend got a red squid hat and I got a pink squid hat and we wore them all day and people loved them. At one point there was a crowd in front of us and to part it a bit to get us through my girlfriend's mom said, "Make way for the Squid Queen!" as she pushed my chair through the crowd. So now I'm sometimes called the Squid Queen and personally I love the nickname and have adopted it as my handle on a few things lol

I also have another nickname that I'm mostly called but this post is already long so maybe some other time.

So yeah, let's hear everyone's stories on how they got their nicknames!!

@Dullanyan

Aww, those are cute names!! I love the name Marcie tbh, it's really cute! And marcipan is an amazing nickname even if nobody uses it anymore. ;; And mabs is cute too omg.

I also love the Brionne in your signature!! I chose Popplio as my starter in Pokémon Sun and I love every evolution of it so much. <3

My other nickname is Sheepy, which is short for Sheepyfish. At school my friends were talking about a certain something-fish but I can't remember the original name... and then we came up with nicknames for everyone calling them "___fish" so like someone would be "happyfish" or something. Someone called me "Sheepyfish" and mine was the only name that stuck but I'm usually called just Sheepy.

I'm actually usually INTRODUCED to people as Sheepy which is really embarrassing 'cause then I have to be like, "That's not actually my name omg." I also get called Sheepskin, Sheepster, etc. My girlfriend's mom mainly calls me Sheepskin, I think because she has so many sheepskins around the house lol She just loves them in general. Sometimes I worry she's gonna skin me though!! lol

.w. Chompy is one. On almost every pokemon game I've played, I've named myself Chompy.
;-; I consider one of my friends a "rival." He nicknames me Chompy.

And then there's "Tye-Dye," just because I've challenged a friend to give me a nickname.
yes, my name is Tai

Usually I'm either called 'Mel', or 'Melly'. My favorite has to be 'Melanie the Black', though. It has quite the story behind it, and I wish more people would call me that.

So my best friend's dad was really into Lord of the Rings. He had this entire chess set in a display case and everything. My best friend actually knew 2 Melanies, the other girls name was pronounced may-lanie, which ironically was a common mispronounciation of my name. You spelled the two exactly the same, though. She was also very tall and had this 'regular' style of clothing, and I was this average height mall-goth looking girl. We looked nothing alike when you saw us next to each other. But our names were a little confusing when talking about us, so my best friend's dad gave us nicknames to tell us apart quickly.

She was Melanie the Tall... And because of my style, he called me Melanie the Black. I kind of liked that, since it sort of sounded similar to Gandalf the Grey.
I saw the movies a while ago, and the scene where Gandalf takes down the Balrog really stuck. So having a nickname similar to a demon-slaying wizard summoning fireworks from his fingertips sounded pretty good to me. My self-esteem was a disaster during those years, and it made me feel like this powerful dark wizard or something.

A few of my more fashionable non-goth friends took to calling me Melly. You know, the super-extra friend in high school that's not part of a subculture? Yup, that kind of person called me Melly whenever I ran into them. I just sort of allowed it since it was obviously a term of endearment to them, even though I rejected every feminine side of myself that I had at the time. But only they got to do it: I gave everyone else who tried the death glare.

Mel was usually just how people shortened my name.

My nickname is Wolfie. My friends when I was about 13 years old gave me that nickname because I'm kinda... I grew up with 2 dogs who were basically my sister, so as a kid/young teen I tended to behave a lot like a dog. And me and two friends would often go out into the forest together to play. They were both crazy about the occult, and as of such they imagined me to be a werewolf. And along came the nickname "Wolfie".

I got my nickname, Blue, from the username LOCW_Bluestarwarrior that I use on ChickenSmoothie. :) I really like it, and it's also my cat's nickname! So we match!
