...or do you still trick-or-treat?
this halloween made me think about the idea of "kid" stuff vs. "adult" stuff and being "too old" to do something and how different people in different places interpret it and how weird the whole concept is; in my old middle school if you were seen trick-or-treating you'd probably get beaten up (it was pretty hellish there yeah) but now in high school it's "cool" again and lots of high school kids go. But some students still say that they're too old to go and that it's silly to go when you're not a little kid. It's so weird.
It was weird for me this year because all my life trick-or-treating has been amazing and cool and the best thing ever and I was sure I would never outgrow it because who outgrows free candy? a really dumb person, that's who. But i did, last night I met with my friends to go and we weren't into it and we hit like 4 houses before we just wandered off and messed around at the park for the rest of the evening. We weren't interested anymore. Was it because according to most people high schoolers trick-or-treating was weird and we didn't want to be weird, or was it natural? weird

I stopped when I was 12. Tbh I still want to keep doing it.. Maybe next year?
I don't think really know how people feel about it where I live. My sister used bringing me trick or treating and use that as a reason to still do it lol.

I stopped going at around 14.

Stopped mostly because I held a Halloween party that year and I really didn't need the candy. Also that year my parents thought me and my friends were grown up enough to start going to haunted houses on Halloween too. And I have to say that haunted houses were just a whole heck of a lot cooler than running around to random houses to get candy. Now we were getting SCARED, and it was magical~!

When i was 16, I finally realized that maybe I should stop. I was with my little sis and bringing her trick-or-treating and at some house some guy had the gall to question my age. It shouldn’t matter what age I am, because I’m spending time with my younger sibling.

Regardless, that kind of ruined the effect for me. The next year I went with some friends as my final time because I had never done that (spent some time with my sis before I went with them, though), but at 18 I decided I wouldn’t go. My sis went with friends and i took her out for more later, but that was the all I did. No more trick-or-treating for me, sadly, cause “adults shouldn’t be doing something so childish!”

Last time I went trick-or-treating I was fourteen I think. It just started to get a little awkward, when you're tall like me it's obvious even when you're dressed up that you're older, and sometimes you might get (or you're afraid you'll get) the "aren't you too old?" looks. I'm sixteen now, and I still dress up, and I get to stay home and enjoy Halloween with my family and eat candy I actually like instead of random stuff. ^^' Yesterday was really fun! The only thing I miss is walking around and seeing all the different decorations on houses and costumes that other people have.

My family don't celebrate halloween and don't agree with kids going to random strangers and asking for sweets anyway so I never had to opportunity to go as a kid. Went with a friend a couple of times as an older teen, but didn't really see the fun in wandering around town in the dark and cold for the sake of getting free sweets, but then again I've never been the kind of person that gets excited over candy anyway.

11 I think. ^^; Mostly because my family moved to a different neighbourhood.

The neighbourhoods I've moved to since were so sparsely populated with kids, and now I'm in an apartment building, so I miss trick or treating/ers and I love hearing about people of all ages going out. :D

I was 12 when I stopped as my Mom told me 13 was too old to go.

I ended up going one more time as a friend when I was 18 since we were escorting my younger sibs and her cousin, but in hindsight it was kinda stupid lol.

Personally I don’t mind seeing high schoolers at my door, but they gotta at least have a costume. I’ve seen some pretty sad looking attempts from teens over the years.

I've actually only gone twice or three times.
Imho, I don't really find it fun. I'd only do it if it's w/ my cousins

I stopped at like 12. (Mainly because my mom told me to stop..)

However, last night I ended up getting dressed up and walked around my neighborhood as some people really went all out. (Someone was giving hot dogs away and beer. Beer for the parents, not the kids. They were also playing music and had a projector. Another house had a fog machine and made the entire place look super creepy.)

While I was out I was mainly playing Pokemon Go but I stopped at a few houses just for some candy if they had anything good. (I was also right at a Witch Pikachu only for it to despawn RIGHT WHEN I FOUND IT ON THE MAP)

It's sorta funny, though. I'm in college and some other students were talking about ToTing and what not. I'm not really into parties or getting drunk so I just go and ask for sweets to pay off my student debt.

If anyone is curious, I went as a Slytherin member. I'm actually Ravenclaw but I got the Slytherin robe first and I'm not spending $100 again ;; plus if I mismatched it'd be weird..

Next year I might go as a cosplay I've been planning if the weather isn't ice cold or as a Pokemon Breeder so I can ride a bike.
