I just bought a dress off Glitzy Wonderland (on sale) and will be making my first ever outfit soon c:
Was wondering if there's any other people who dress in lolita on Flight Rising???

Heyyyy, foxwaffles! I actually don't remember where I know your username from (my hatchery or exalt rescue, maybe) but I do know that I know you!
I wear lolita fashion too! I actually tried to purchase from Glitzy Wonderland a month ago, but they were out of the dress that I ordered so I cancelled it :/ if you need any advice, I could possibly lend a few pointers for your first coordinate! :) good luck, I'm really excited for you :D

I LOVE lolita fashion, but I don't really dress up. I basically wear the same thing every day to class- a black sweater and jeans. LOL! But congrats on the new dress! I hope you have a great time putting together an outfit! @

I've bought quite a few dragons from your exalt rescue! Nice to talk to you again and I didn't know you were a lolita!!! Ahhh I'm glad somebody else likes Glitzy too, I might ask you for help in the future ;v; There's so many people who like lolita online who will reblog other people's outfits on Tumblr and say that they're bad and half the time I have no idea what's wrong XD
I actually won't be able to wear the dress until May which is when I'm going back to China and will be able to get my petticoat from Classical Puppets ahaha

Same, all throughout college I'd just wear whatever was comfy to get by 8C I've always dreamed of wearing lolita though, but I didn't realize I could do it (and feel confident and not embarrassed), until our final art show when one of my classmate's friends walked in totally decked out in the most adorable OTT Sweet outfit I'd ever seen! We talked for like an hour and she really gave me a kick in the butt to just do it, plus a few basic resources to start my research c:

foxwaffles For sure let me know if you have any specific questions! I'm not the most seasoned lolita, but I can try my best, haha. Also, I would try not to let what people say on the internet about what's "correct" affect you too much. Like obviously there are rules and guidelines to stay within the fashion to make sure you don't bleed into another type of fashion, but I've found that a lot of people will say that you're "not supposed" to do something but then a ton of other people will say they love a fresh take on the style. As long as you stay within the silhouette, I think you'll be fine. :D

Thanks ;v;
I'm just worried about my color coordination and things like hair accessories. I was hoping to buy one of those hair accessories that has a rose flower thingy plus netting (I think you know what I'm talking about), they're pretty popular in Gothic Lolita and I kinda wanted one that was white or blue, and one that was black, but I can't seem to find any :o
Do you know where I can obtain one and not break my bank? I know some big brands sell them but for way too much!

I do! Though I tend to make my own stuff instead of buying stuff, because instead of buying a skirt for $75 I can make an entire outfit for that much. :x Yeah, it takes a little longer, but hey, I made my Christmas outfit just in time to wear it for the holidays! :>
That said, I tend to do more gothic lolita than cutie lolita stuff, but I can manage to pull off both. Whenever out I will dress at least a little in the style. It's such fun. I love the looks that I get, especially since where I live, there is no big things for people to know about such a thing. It's fun.

Yep, same, I'm more interested in classic and gothic lolita! No sweet for me.
I REALLY want to learn to sew, I have dabbled in it before in design school but I'm just so terrified of buying fabric and then making a giant potato. It has to happen because of course nobody is a pro right off the bat but ahhhh the thought of it makes me so discouraged ;-;
I've noticed a trend where a lot of indie and big brands are using a lot of prints these days, I really want a solid color dress so of course if I can't find it I'd like to be able to make it on my own ;w;

foxwaffles Do you mean like a round headdress? I know more about sweet accessories so I'm not sure I know exactly what you're talking about. Here are some current sales on lace market that
might be what you're looking for:
https://egl.circlly.com/auctions/bodyline-ribbon-rose-canotier
https://egl.circlly.com/auctions/dramatic-rose-round-headdress
They're not the exact same thing, but maybe they're close? Also that bodyline one is dang cute AND only 10 pounds! I would definitely recommend checking out etsy, and using the search term "fascinator." Some things with a lacey netting across the face show up on there when I search "rose fascinator."
Also, are you a part of any of the secondhand facebook sales groups? Lots of good, gently used, well-priced stuff shows up there all the time!
