TOPIC | How did you find out Santa wasn't real?

I'm sorry for crushing your hopes and dreams if you still believe in Santa..

I was 7 years old at the time. The Santa in the mall? Yes. I thought he was the "real" Santa..until I went to Walmart right after and saw Santa again..with a slightly different accent and less wrinkles.

This Walmart wasn't far away neither, nor did I see 'flying reindeer' while heading there..

Also, how could reindeer way older than me at the time still be alive if they only live under 12 years?
thank you books about reindeer at my old elementary school's library..

I never believed in santa. Or I lost this believe so early that I don't remember. My parents always tried though. I remeber not understanding why they tried to ******** me.

What I found much much more mysterious was how they managed to smuggle stuff under the christmastree. Today I know that its a bit like stealth game missions - timing is everything. XD

My family still pretends Santa is real. I'm 23 and one of my parent's presents this year still said it was from Santa. It's just kinda a tradition in my family that after the kids find out Santa is real we don't disclose that fact and still continue "believing."

I kinda 'knew' when I was like 10, but I wanted to keep believing because I loved the magic of Christmas. I have lots of younger cousins and my sister didn't know until like two or three years ago so my family just kinda keeps doing the stocking thing when we visit family or have them over. It's nice because you get presents that you haven't seen the box of yet, so it's a nice surprise even if we know that it's just mom that got it :P

I was starting to wonder how the heck Santa would get to like 7 billion houses in like 32 hours, how he drank so much alcohol without dying from alcohol poisoning and why Santa's handwriting looked ever so like my Dad's...

I figured it out myself when I was 10 or so. Just logical deduction, though I did spend a long time trying to figure out the logistics of it... how did my parents get hold of all those presents, and how'd they sneak them under the tree? Or into my stocking in my room!? Haha.

Didn't ever stop and say I didn't believe in Santa anymore, so my parents only realised a couple of years later. Not that it made a difference. :P

I "knew" pretty early on, but it didn't bother me that much. My family isn't really big on Santa except for really tiny children.

It was sometime in elementary school when my dad was driving us home after class and I sat him down and asked for the truth. I was able to accept Santa wasn't real, but when he said neither was the Easter bunny, I was crushed LMAO

I never believed in Santa! But I still used to have fun playing along with Santa traditions like writing letters and leaving out cookies/mince pies and a carrot for the reindeer (and although the usual tradition is to leave him a glass of milk, my dad always reckoned that Santa preferred a beer.)

I never actually believed in Santa. Ever. Like, my parents didn’t even try to get me to believe. Every Christmas they’d just be like “Alright kids, we’re going shopping, what do you want for Christmas?”
Yeah, my family were never really into the whole “Woohoo, Christmas!” thing.
