The best part is that porgs are actually puffins, but the island they filmed it on doesn't let you interfere with the wildlife. So the director just CGI'd them over with porgs.

Porg stew is DELICIOUS. A little seasoning from Hapes, some Dathomir wild beans on the side and a nice glass of Corellian Brandy...
But I neither like nor dislike the Porgs. I can't really understand much of the massive hate from some people, though. The way I see it, the Star Wars universe is a big place with lots of species ranging from freaky to cute, so I don't really get why having a cute species show up is such a terrible thing.
