I typically go sub unless the series is set in an English speaking country and the dub is really good. Mom prefers the dub even to things like Free!

Definitely prefer sub. Dub isn't always that bad, but I can never get used to the English voices.

Plus if the headphones bleed sound then it doesn't matter since most people can't understand it anyway.

Dub unless the voice acting is terrible I usually listen and do something else and that's not really possible with sub lol

Depends tbh. I'm usually all for subs, but I like watching anime in the language of the country it's based in (If only there were a German dub of AOT).

If it's set in America or England (or fantasy places that look like English speaking countries) then I'll watch an English dub. If it's set in Japan I'll watch the subbed version.

Definitely subs. I use them all the time, since I'm a bit hard of hearing AND have a difficult time remembering things I've heard (if I see it, I'll remember much better- if I only hear it, it may only last a few seconds).

I like watching things in the language they were originally written in.

When you add having to match the length of a sentence spoken, you lose additional in translation.

For anime set in Japan in particular, I also have like a THING about English language VA's mispronouncing Japanese names. Like it irritates me to the point that I actively can't watch it.

Subs hands down. I also prefer to watch it as its original made in Japan. They're just more authentic to me and I love the diversity. For dub, everyone sounds the exact same to me. Plus they choose voice actors that I don't think fit the characters at all compared to the original. Not to mention they kinda butcher it by making the speech more "slangy" and cool when I really just want the authentic emotion and stuff.

Live-Action: AlWAYS sub. Dub is terrible.

Animation: Depends on quality mostly. I'll take something like Hellsing or Ghost in the Shell SAC dub over a sub, but most of the time I'll take the sub.
