The Drawn to Life series. My favorite of the two is the sequel but the first game is just as good. They both have unique mechanics, fun gameplay that lasts many hours, and incredible stories and well-developed characters. These games are my everything, tbh.

lostRhythm Along similar lines to Drawn to Life, Scribblenauts was quite a lot of fun! My favourite DS titles have always been the Pokemon Ranger series, so I'd also recommend trying out one of those if you haven't already.

Dragon Quest Joker 1 and 2. I've only played 2 and thought it was good. There's also Metroid Prime Pinball which was a surprisingly good game.

Legend of Starfy is super old, and I played it a lot as a kid. Super cute, fairly easy, but with a DIFFICULT final boss.

- Ghost Trick
- The World Ends with You (it's about to be ported to the Switch though if you've got that)
- Devil Survivor 1 & 2 (the 3DS ports have added content that make them worth the buy instead if you've got that system)
- SMT: Strange Journey (about to be ported to the 3DS with a new route, also pretty hard if that's an issue)
- Knights in the Nightmare (really hard though)
- Hotel Dusk
- Trace Memory
- Rune Factory 3 (the other 2 aren't bad either)

Ohh yeah FFIV and Castlevania OoE and PoR. I can't remember the difficulty for Portrait of Ruin but Order of Ecclesia and FFIV can be difficult games.
Order of Ecclesia has somewhat of a SotN vibe to it so if you liked that Castlevania game you'll probably like OoE.
