I saw a post on Team Umizoomi but wanted to expand the idea to all childhood shows. I hope I can kindle nostalga with this topic.
My childhood shows had little variation. Growing up, we had no cable, so all I had were old Nickelodean VHSes and CDs. As for TV, I had PBS kids and Playhouse Disney and that was about it.
The shows I grew up on were as follows:
Blues Clues (which is getting a reboot, apparently)
Bear and the Big Blue House (shadow, shadow, where is shadow~)
Jojo's Circus (a forgotten Playhouse Disney one)
Higglytown Heroes (another forgotten PD one)
Dora the Explorer/Go Diego Go
Maya and Miguel (a forgotten PBS kids one)
WordGirl
Martha Speaks!
Clifford the Big Red Dog
Sesame Street
Johnny and the Sprites (a late PD one, never saw much of it)
The Wiggles
Barney (whom we all wanted to kill as children for some reason)
Zoboomafoo (which inspired my love for animals)
Bindi the Jungle Girl (no one remembers this one either)
Between the Lions (which is probably one of the most clever kids shows ever)
Cyberchase (Which is still around!)
Maggie and the Ferocious Beast
Oswald
Sagwa the Siamese Cat (which exists. Here's proof.)
Dragon Tales
The Berenstain Bears
Reading Rainbow (They read Stone Soup and it became a favorite story of mine)
Arthur (and I say HEY)
The Magic School Bus (of which the Netflix reboot is garbage)
FETCH! With Ruff Ruffman
Veggie Tales (of which the Cebu from the song is a real life animal.)
The Suite Life of Zach + Cody (THE PRNDL)
The Big Comfy Couch
Lazytown (one of the best kids shows EVER for real)
WordGirl (go watch THIS YTP if you saw WordGirl)
Harold and the Purple Crayon (TELL ME THIS EXISTED)
Oobi (the one with the hand puppets!)
Scooby Doo, Where Are You?
Tom & Jerry
I'll add more if I recall more, but... How about you? Do any of these strike a chord? I hope more people remember Bear in the Big Blue House because that one was probably one of the best shows out of these... I made a good meme about it and will see if I can bring it here. But until then... I'd like to hear from you, the reader.
