Apparently Spokane's air quality index is Hazardous, and is worse than Beijing and Delhi's air quality combined. I don't live in Spokane or anywhere close, but I am within the smoke, and hoo lawd is it yellowy-orange outside.

Anyone else observing it from the comfort of home?

Reminds me of last year right around this time, at my old job, when I had to fill in for our van driver and do the deliveries for him, and after going in and out of the van for hours, my throat was burning and I had a horrible cough. This being the same day there was ash on my car.

I've never experienced anything like that, but sometimes dust storms in my region get so bad that particles sting your face when you go outside. Usually the air just gets cloudy and you sneeze when doors are opened, though.

from like wednesday until saturday the sky in my part of saskatechewan was completely choked with haze from the BC fires. everything smelled like campfire smoke and not even being inside could completely keep it out

it's FINALLY beginning to clear up and i've never been so happy to be be blinded by sunlight

I live near Spokane and boy... the air up here is s m o k e y. I just checked google and it says the air where I am is even more polluted than Spokane's is. Yikes.

It seems slightly better than yesterday though. I've hoping the cool breeze I've been feeling is a big wet storm brewing and not because we haven't seen sunlight since the fires started...

Reporting live from Seattle, on the other side of the state: the sky was orange today. Apparently it's not as bad as it is in Spokane but it's still pretty rough out here. I am ready for the smoke to go away thanks

Bring back my not on fire beloved PNW blease @tomaytotomahto When I was in Hawaii last month we were on this one beach that kept getting blasted by wind, and it would kick up the sand and just hurt to be on. I'm hoping the rain comes to my area. Weather forecast doesn't say anything about it but here's hoping for a miracle haha.

I can't wait for fall either.

Currently it is fire season in my state, so the air quality has been awful because of all the fires and smoke.

Recently however I moved up to the northern coast of the state, where the air is absolutely clean and smoke free, and it is wonderful. But for the whole summer I was in my hometown, the air was often brownish and hazy and smelled like death...
