I just moved into a new apartment and I love walking. So one day I went for a walk (cuz I love walking) and I saw this trail. Sadly, it was getting dark so I decided to go another day
today was that day! And the trail was absolutely magical! Full of weeping willows that made leaf-tunnels and then it opened up to a lake! It was beautiful!! On my way back I saw something swimming in the water and being the huge animal nerd/enthusist that I am, I wanted to see it better!
I'll admit, I was very confused. It looked like a teeny tiny beaver. Upon a closer look, I saw it didn't have a flat tail. Then I thought, wait, is this a rat? But it was too brown, the tail and legs too black, and the head too beaver-like to be a rat. So as soon as I got home, I googled aquatic rodents, and this image popped up
YES this is exactly what I saw! Tell me google, what is this? "muskrat"
I am THRILLED!
the muskrat was super cute just swimming through the water and dodging tree branches. There was a moment when we were four feet away from each other that we had eye contact and just looked at each other curiously
it was great
