TOPIC | Why I Left the ___ Fandom

I want to hear stories about why you have left fandoms!

I left the Voltron fandom (I do still watch the show tho) because of the constant shipping wars. If you didn't ship one of the main ones, people would be all over your ship, trying to tear it apart. Too much in-drama, it's easier to just watch and enjoy without dipping your toes in the fandom.

I left the Stranger Things fandom (I would still love to talk about the show though!! Love it) because of 2 reasons. 1: too many people sexualizing the cast, not enjoyable and pretty creepy. 2: too,, many,, annoying,, 13-14 year olds (nothing against age, just they were cringey)

I left the Creepypasta fandom since I found better interests, and also wanted to ditch that horribly cringeworthy part of me.

I left the My Little Pony fandom since my elementary school friends were the ones who got me into it and maintained my interest in it. I went to a different high school than they did, so my interest in that ended up fading away.

I left the Undertale fandom since it was considerably toxic. The gameplay and morality system is interesting and the music is great, but the fans... Why are you sexualizing a skeleton that's a terrible fetish

I left the Pokémon fandom because everyone was always fighting and complaining about everything, genwunners weren't being very nice, and people were calling Yo-Kai Watch a "Pokémon rip-off" when it wasn't.

I myself left Undertale because it was getting so repetitive. Sans was the only thing I'd ever see, why is everyone shipping a child with a skeleton, and the community as a whole was hypocritical and toxic. I literally found someone that made a reference, I pointed it out, and they just shamed me. It was terrible. It did get me into better fandoms, though, so it hasn't totally left my heart, as a lot of the fandoms it got me into are still strong with me. coughs in touhou and especially vocaloid

I left the 1D fandom a few years ago because of the stigma surrounding it, and the way Larry shippers destroyed Louis and Harry’s friendship. And because my older brother made of me to the point where he had destroyed my self esteem and it was v unhealthy :/

who tells your story?
No shame: I'm leaving Animal Jam, it was actually pretty great in the beginning (yeah I was a early player) and then everyone started to be toxic after membership came out. I was just sorting out a item giveaway since I'm quitting and either people thought I was lying or were really really whiny/ wanted the items. Then I just gave stuff to random people and they all thought it was a trick .-.

I left the rant community a while back. Mainly, after the whole ‘Spoctor Incident’. I just realized that what was originally a group that critiqued and reviewed stuff had basically just become a stew of drama and ‘call-outs’ for other ranters.

I basically decided that I didn’t want to waste my time listening to people yell at each other, and that I wanted to do more productive things like improve my art and grades.

I left the Voltron fandom, too. I was so tired of the Keith x Lance ships or the Keith x Shiro ships, it was chaos and that was literally what the whole fandom was about, ship wars. I don't even watch the show anymore, they just ruined it for me :/

I didn’t leave the FNaF fandom. The FNaF fandom left me.

Back in sixth grade, I had a friend named Sammy Foster. Now, she was a really cool girl, really chill, and she and I shared an interest in My Little Pony. So, she was really into Five Nights at Freddy’s, and I joined in because she did. Whenever we could, we would go to a nearby park and talk about it.

Now as time went on, she developed depression and stopped talking to me. Eventually, in seventh or eighth grade, she had to change schools. Without her, I just lost interest in such trivial things as Five Nights ar Freddy’s, along with Creepypasta and Warriors (which she were also into). It just... it reminds me of her.

She’s still at my high school, but we don’t talk anymore.
