General Discussion

I'm looking for some interesting sad and serious animes to watch. I've seen most of the real popular ones, like AoT and Tokyo Ghoul. Any suggestions? (mostly interested in action-type animes)

@kyrin18 Can recommend a couple, but watch them with coution, not every single one is a masterpieace.

• Ajin - a pretty good dark serious anime with lots of action. A big downside is the CGI.

• Black lagoon - Absolutly amazing action packed gritty series with mature themes and great characters.

• Death parade - if you want something emotion and character driven. Has some gripping moments and great animation.

• Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash - a fantasy setting, but everything progresses slowly and subtly with good character development.

• KADO: The Right Answer - for those who like sci-fi and interesting takes on human race. The only things that aren't great are the CGI and the ending.

• And the last suggestion and an absolutly amazing series of movies that will make you get out of your seat with mature themes, great story telling, insanely twisted plot - Kara no Kyoukai.
Woul suggest watching these movies by the dates they were out, cus it's really fun to pieace all the things together after the viewing.

Madoka Magika: Yeah okay, I see you looking at this and "oh it's a magical girl anime." Madoka is to magical girl shows what Evangelion was to Mecha (and yeah, add EVA to that list. At least the TV show and End, it gets serious and sad at times to the point of possibly disturbing).

A SILENT VOICE. i only read the manga but i heard the movie was just as good. it's so sad but so beautiful.
