Anyone on FR enjoy and play Minecraft? Before Notch sold it.
I just watched an old fan-made rap battle I used to watch over three or two years ago. The comments pretty much all support Terraria, it's quite sad. I remember playing Minecraft back when the 'Red Rose' item existed, before being repaced by Microsoft's 'Poppy'. I miss the game, I really do, when it was popular, when it was appreciated...
Anyone else remember? I'm a little late for Minecraft's Deathday, but, here's that thread, now.

I didn't realize Minecraft died? They've added a lot of new mobs from what I know, both peaceful and hostile. Its been a long time since I've played - I think I stopped two years ago but I want to play it again when I get a new laptop. It was my friends on a server that got me into Flight Rising.

Minecraft didn't really die, it just became.. obsolete.
Like, 95% of the people who used to call it good back in the day have moved on from it, save for the clickbaity YouTubers that still milk the thing for money

I... still play it? Occasionally? Albeit heavily modded. It's not "dead", it's just old. Most people have moved onto other things, as happens with all media eventually. I'm sure some people play it every now and then, like I do (I know one of my brothers still enjoys it every once in a while, also modded).
At the end of the day, there's only so much you can do with Original Flavour Block-Game before it gets kinda boring and you move onto something new.
But I don't think Microsoft killed it? I think time killed it. *shrugs*

i havent noticed it dying at all?? i still play it, i still watch a lot of people play it mostly hermitcraft). theyve been updating a lot of things but i like that we are finally getting a lot of brand new stuff. but yeah a lot of the original mc youtubers have either moved on or have stopped making videos entirely, it seems like its sticking to the a single age group rather than growing with it, which is fine in my opinion. theyve been changing a few old textures, some of them i dont like but its not like game breaking. a lot of my friends have been picking it up again, some of them never put it down in the first place

From what I understand it's still rather successful. In fact, a lot of the old servers are doing just fine for themselves. What I think happened is just that Minecraft got drawn out of the limelight from people growing up (since a lot of its players were kids/teens) and moving on to different things.

i haven't played it in so long, but i have pretty good memories of it. it is pretty dead as far as i've seen. f for respect
