Do you guys do bullet journals? Is it fun? Should I try? What's the size of the notebook you're doing it on (if you're doing it into a notebook)?
Bullet journaling is really new to me and I'd like to give it a try but I have no idea what to do :>

@Kinnachan Nope, requires too much energy and art skills I do not possess. I see majority of bullet journals being quite small (14.5cm by 21cm??). If you're really into drawing and pretty fonts, it'd be great for you.

@LostSoal
A bullet journal is kinda like a mixture of a diary and a calendar or so :D It’s really hard to explain, you can google it if you’re interested

Bullet Journals don't have to be Instagram worthy with layers of stickers, paper, pens and art...

The main theme is organizing lists into "collections" that make sense for you.

I've been bullet journaling for a year at least, slightly more than a year.

I usually do a monthly spread with a couple pages per month for grocery lists, projects, etc. However, it changes over time depending on what I need! I don't do crazy art, but I do like washi tape and stickers. :D

Honestly, at the core of a bullet journal is this;
A method of organising your day-to-day tasks with dot points and a set key log.

All of the fancy schmancy spreads you see on instagram and other social media? They're like, "advanced" bujo's. Or DIY bujo's. Sure they're awesome to look at, but don't hold yourself to that ideal unless you're already a creative person and it brings you joy to create such lavish set ups.

I'm speaking *as* an art student here - do what brings you joy and that which makes you want to come back again and again. If creating an elaborate artistic spread brings you stress, or makes you anxious because "what if I mess up?" then tone it down. Go back to the basics of what a bullet journal is all about, and then build upon it if you wish to.

It's a sentiment I see all the time in the studyblr community - how can I be that creative if it causes me stress? How do they do that, again and again, without getting burned out or frustrated? Honestly, a lot of the time those spreads take hours to create - and you're looking at the finished product only

Don't hold yourself to such high standards, and learn what it is that you want to utilise a bujo for.

Echoing the above poster! I've been bullet journalling for about a year now and have only just now kind of found my niche. Don't worry if you feel unsatisfied with a bunch of layouts, you'll get the hang of it eventually. But really, my journal has been incredibly helpful for my organisation, especially since I attend school and have a fairly structured routine with assignments and exams thrown in throughout. I highly recommend it, both for practical and fun purposes.

As for specifics, I use an a5 blank hardcover sketchbook because I'm personally not fond of dotted grids or too thin pages that allow ink to bleed through. I have a future log set up for long term stuff, monthly calendars for less long term stuff, and weekly spreads for day-to-day.

As for "collections", I just keep a page here and there for stuff specific to me; artwork prompts, university elective considerations, books to read/rate, etc. Oh, and a mood tracker! I did a graph sort of thing each month last year and have also added a "year in pixels" method this year.

I couldn't get into the bullet journals but I did get myself a Filofax (on sale because hot dog are those things pricey when not) and it helps keeps my life organized with all my doctor appointments. c:
