TOPIC | Couch Co-Op Games for PS4?
1 2
Hi guys! Roommate got a new PS4. We're in search for a new game to play together in split screen, but we're not avid gamers & we have no idea what's out there to play! We currently have Call of Duty III (?) and Titanfall. Looking for maybe something else thats an FPS, or some other kind of game that includes a split screen option. Titanfall isnt split screen and it's driving us wild. LOL Not really interested in open-world kinda stuff? My roomie has no patience for it. She doesn't necessarily like building or questing, so it has to be something more... action-y. If that makes sense. Was looking into Burnout Paradise Remastered, for the PS4, but turns out -- doesn't have split screen like the old-old-OLD version used to have. And it makes me sad. D: If you guys have any suggestions, please share! Thank you! **edit** Will update this list as I get more posts + any input from my roomie! :3 CURRENT SUGGESTIONS:

[s]Resident Evil 5 (zombies, bro)[/s] - nope. didnt make the cut.
Borderlands 2 (handsome collection?)
[s]Enter the Gungeon [/s] -- she says no D:
A Way Out (3rd person adventure game)
Dynasty Warriors 8 (hack and slash, WOO!)
Diablo 3 (even I know what Diablo is.)

Resident Evil 5

It was a ps3/360 game but has a PS4 port and it's honestly the most fun I've ever had in co-op. It's actiony and has splitscreen. There's multiple difficulties so you can find the one that's right for you both and it encourages working together.

Edit: Also don't worry about it been 5th in a series, it works fine as a standalone.

@BladeDancer
:O ZOMBIES AND SPLITSCREEN?!
Oh no. It's like my two favorite things rolled into one.

Does it require knowing what happens in the Resident Evil series? Because like... I've only seen the movies. And she definitely doesn't know anything about it xD

Nah you're good, some of the characters are from the previous games but you don't have to know what happened in them.

Thanks! I'll definitely ask her about that one. :3 I mean, you can't go wrong with zombies right?!

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection has Borderlands 2 which is my favorite co-op split screen shooter (at least that's available on the PS4). It is /technically/ open world, but the story follows pretty linear and the enemies respawn a lot. Lots of fun and wacky stuff to look forward to with hilarious/lovable characters. It's a pretty cheap buy right now.

I've heard a lot about Borderlands. o_o I've never played though. Are there a lot of those like.... cutscenes during play? That's kinda the only reason that she hates anything with a serious storyline. She has to sit through the cutscenes xD

@UnhappyJoker

Yeah the gameplay is a lot of fun with a friend, you can set up co-op moves and stuff. If you both like that, RE6 is very similar with the co-op action gameplay, but I think 5 is a better place to jump in with.

The cutscenes that do lock gameplay are often quick and to the point and are mostly used for introducing bosses or major plot points (such as the ending). They are few and far between, once again most have the characters talking in the background to fill you in as you play. You don't have to care about the story too much, it's definitely not a game meant to be taken too seriously as it's more like a comedy xD They'll definitely keep you entertained!

Enter the Gungeon is really REALLY fun!

Its a dungeon crawler FPS with tons of puns.

I mean, the name itself is a pun.

Its 15 bucks but has hundreds of hours of gameplay, while it is difficult, you'll have a butt load of fun with yer roommate!

Disclaimer though, a lot of items and guns have to be unlocked through playing the game, but this adds a sense of adventure as it makes each run different.
