Hello there!

I'm in a weird mood and I'm exhausted and should be going to bed, but I have to blast out homework, and I'm struggling to stay both awake and interested but I just can't afford to go straight to bed and yeah.

I was wondering- would some of you wonderful people feel like telling me something you're really passionate about? Anything you enjoy- you don't even need to love it all that much. I just would love some excited positive energy right now.

Just a sentence or a word, or heck, go off for an entire book's worth on whatever you want! Tell me what you really like! Books, music, shows, hobbies, your pets, etc...

I'll trade for it, post some interests of my own in response!

This is such a cute thread idea?? Also side note I feel ya on the whole being exhausted yet having commitments to see through - I started packing this morning to move flats in 2 or 3 days and took a break to grab some lunch. It's been 2 hours since lucnh and I am just so tired yet know I have to push through.

I really love One Day at a Time on Netflix, it's so wholesome and funny while touching on some hard hitting topics like having a gay character explore coming out and how that impacts them, a character who's overcome addictions and faces them in a later season, I could go on for hours! Gosh there's so much this show has to offer and I wonder why more people haven't given it a go?

Books, I've always loved The Silver Brumby and I truly believe reading it fostered my love for horses when I was a kid. The publisher recently released a centennial edition with the first 3 books in the series, which of course I borrowed from my local library and finished within 4 days haha.

And recently, I've been getting into tarot cards and doing readings for day-to-day moments or worries. It's really fun to explore! And I've got two decks on hold at two different stores lmao whoops

Geckos. Out of all the different clades of reptiles out there, geckos are just the absolute best. I'm so excited to finish with college and university so I can just get an apartment, get a big like 100 gallon tank to make an amazing terrarium where I can keep like 4-5 giant day geckos or gargoyle geckos. I'd also maybe want a smaller tank to keep some Malaysian cat geckos. But I'd also need to make sure I have room for my current leopard gecko and corn snake, too.

But geckos right? They're just... the cutest things, with their sticky gecko feet and big eyes and the fact that they lick everything. And that many species are also vocal is icing on the cuteness cake when they make little chirps and squeaks.

Pokemon

I can quite easily list off random Pokemon facts. Pokemon inspired me to start my art...journey? Career?
I have an entire Caboodle full of Pokemon Cards.

I'm so overly passionate about Pokemon people tell me to shut up about it sometimes. It's a religion.

Take a shot everytime I say Pokemon, I'm half asleep too, I'm trying akjadjewird

i'm super passionate about young adult literature. just because it's not written by old white guys doesn't mean young adult books can't impact readers in a really profound way. just look at twilight and how many people it's influenced over the years.

i'm also passionate about "internet speak." people who think social media/the internet is ruining the english language need to calm down. english is SUPPOSED to evolve, and all the internet did was make typed words more like natural speech patterns. real speech doesn't have capitalization and commas and such my dude, calm down. readability is important, yes, but don't look down on people for using "internet speak."

these are really nerdy things lmao but i'm an english major so it's on brand

I struggle with this bc I have depression and "passion" is usually the first shoe to drop so to speak, but I'll do my best.

I guess one of the big ones is art of all mediums- I'm not always very good at making it (I feel like I can mix up an ok song, paint an ok watercolor, write an ok short story, but I'm at best the better side of average. I'm more of a jack of all trades ya feel). But even when I'm very sad I find comfort in music and poems and fashion and old paintings and sculptures. Even less "artsy" art forms like taxidermy or furniture making are appealing to me.

I'm also pretty passionate about several causes- I'm somewhat of a pacifist, so anything about spreading peace and love and acceptance is my jam. I love people and animals a good amount, despite my extreme social anxiety XD

I am also rather obsessed with a lot of media- I don't think I'm enough of a nerd to be A Nerd, but I love a lot of fantasy and modern fantasy shows. Give me demon / monster / vampire hunting and I'll probably binge it in a week or less.

I guess for me though my main "goal" or like driving purpose is just like, love. Of all forms- dont get me wrong, I am a hopeless romantic, but I think in any form its a really beautiful thing. It can be so warm and comforting- or reckless and daring- or both all at once. So in a way I guess I'm passionate about passion? lol. But yeah, spreading love, taking care of people and animals, showing kindness and compassion to all life forms :)

(-half asleep but had to stay up for GoT-)

Mostly fandoms to be honest. Avengers. Oh man. (Mentally chanting oh man a thousand times) I’m trying not to think about how emotionally unprepared I am for End Game, but also I really need it. I have so many loose threads in my life right now. So with GoT and the current MCU story line wrapping up, its sort of kick starting a closing chapter in my life too. I started these a long time ago, and I’ve been through and changed so much as a person since, it’s very strange to think of the girl who first began watching them. So just one more sign of growing up and finding a future beyond what I have now is awesome and really bittersweet.

Also, on a happy vibes note?

Babies. Little kids. I’ve been a babysitter or nanny to different degrees for most of my life now and I’m so passionate about children. Watching them learn and grow is astounding and awe inspiring every single time, from the geniuses to the ones over coming real trials and impediments. I see the kids I watch and my whole soul feels a little lighter.

Recently twin little girls have been taking up most of my heart. They are the sweetest, most sincere humans I’ve ever met, even at three years old. They’re all smiles and cuddles and love. Then it’s off on another adventure at the playground, or a beauty pageant or ballet recital on the mattresses and endless “Alexa, play Hallelujah” Their entire family has been a real inspiration to me, a goal and a dream of what I want my family life to be like in the future.

Finally, my day was made today when a little girl I watch who is quite underdeveloped in her speech at her age said my name for the first time.

This is probably random and disjointed, sorry. I’m very sleepy. I hope everyone feels better and has a great day tomorrow :)

Most of all, I am passionate about sewing! Sewing is currently my life. I make clothes, costumes, etc. for fun, and money. (Hence the Etsy account in my sig.) It is also my job. I sew huuge banners for places, and big companies, it's a bit repetitive, but it's still a lot of fun. I couldn't imagine doing anything but sewing for most of my free time. It's fun, it's kinda soothing, and I get to make beautiful things.

Another thing I am passionate about is video games. I have to play a video game almost every day, or I start going insane. I have to lose myself to a different world, in order to take in the days events, and understand them. Without them I get anxious very easily, and really depressed. Even if it's just playing Harvest Moon for half an hour, I'm happy. Though I am a JRPG fan, and need a good three hour go in one to be completely happy for a week.

I love making things. I have WAY too many hobbies that just include making things. Like I like to crochet, foam carve, make candy, make bath bombs, make nifty little objects that people find interesting, make acrylic resin gems, make jewelry, etc. I HAVE to have my hands busy at all times or I start getting fidgity really quickly.

Call me a despicable nerd, but Ancient Rome.

I like the "court intrigue" aspect of the civilization—Roman history was rife with conspiracies and coups. Pretty much every imperial dynasty—and the dying years of the Roman Republic!—could serve as the centerpiece for a killer political thriller book, which is pretty neat.

Won't go into my interest further because I'm always self-conscious about it. I know how irritated raving passion for anything can make others, and often it's hard to hold someone's attention when you're blabbing about how aristocrats put jewelry on their pet fishes.

Also, dinosaurs. I love dinosaurs. Especially the feathered ones. Dromaeosaurids, paravians, (debatably) tyrannosaurids, you name it. They're fun to draw and even more fun to study. between ancient rome and dinosaurs i think i'm going to end up majoring in something extremely unprofitable.

I... absolutely love horror films. From start to finish, I know too many obscure facts than I can count.

That being said- my all time favorite has to be Silence of the Lambs. There's soooo much this movie has given me. From aid with my identify and my career, and even coping with how terrible life can get. I own the criterion copy, bluray, books, and vhs tapes... not to mention a taxidermied death's head moth and a planned series of tattoos (art done by the lovely julian miholics)

I'm studying for rehabilitative counseling TT__TT your boy seriously in love
