Oh, but can't you feel it?! The void, it's calling me- Calling all of us! It wants to eat our souls, so that we never ascend to the heavens, it wants to absorb us! It needs sustenance, so that it may expand and envelop this whole useless world! All that muck and grime, the ooze, it will fill every crevice of reality, and it will change the world into a paradise! All you have to do is live to see it!

Used to love those books growing up. Granted it was a gloomy series but I think it was grounding enough to know that the world isn't like a Disney fairytale.

Hello! I read the Unfortunate Events books when the last few were coming out, and saw the Jim Carrey movie in theaters when it came out. Read All the Wrong Questions as they came out, and have seen a few episodes of the Netflix Unfortunate Events series (my backlog of things to watch is huge).
I love the Baudelaires and the Quagmires and the Snickets. The writing is very clever, and the situations the characters find themselves in range from horror-film to romantic comedy, and I adore that the various series can do that.
