I remember being overwhelmed by the sheer number of available colors lol. And I was immediately obsessed with dragons that have "matching" primary and secondary genes. (Petals and butterfly, cherub and seraph, etc.)

Ah, yes. I remember the days before I figured out how to play Glimmer & Gloom and earn my daily streak. I even thought 7k treasure was a lot of money and sold most of my stuff in the Hoard instead of the Auction House for a quick buck.

oh I feel old. Bogsneaks didnt exist yet. No forum vistas unless you where kickstarter or a mod? admin? There where less colors, and a lot less genes. No eye types, obviously. My favorite breeds where spirals and faes. I really liked black / white / grey dragons with pops of blues or pinks.

Im sure the game has changed alot, but I never knew it went to those extents ever since yall have been playing. I mean I would have thought the game would have started with different eyes types and treasure was much more valuable because there were less ways to make it. WOW! Thanks for posting all!
ps: psst JennyWren I was overwhelmed too, I mean all the colors are amazing but I like the crimson and navy colors most. Your not the only one that was in that boat.

I joined three days after the game went public.
-The site was down about half of the time.
-Nobody cared about tertiary colors, since our only options were Circuit or Gembond.
-you couldn't exalt your progens. scatterscrolls didn't exist
-no scrying workshop. wanna see what your dragon would look like with a different gene? send it to someone who has the scroll, have them take a screenshot of the preview and show it to you, then hope they send your dragon back.
-"can I borrow your Boolean for the achievement?" "sure"
-gem ratio got as low as 1:80 because treasure was so hard to earn
-if you were a KS backer, you could make money selling Imps. if not? you're outta luck, your only fairground options are Jigsaw and Runestones.
-nobody has a level 25 dragon yet. nobody understands how the coliseum works.
-"why would you ever exalt a dragon"
-selling reservations for hatchlings. spots on a waiting list. for like 100k. for basic pearlcatcher hatclings
-nobody cared about Wildclaws and only saw them as useful for breeding Imps
-staff invented the Tincture of Dissolution and gave everybody one for free after everyone screwed up their dragons' stats in the coliseum initially
-you can't exalt, sell, or trade permababies
-skydancers didn't exist
-67 COLORS
-the tradition to let a Flight take Dom on their own holiday didn't come until the second month. because of this, Light is the only Flight that's missed Dom on their holiday
-"adventure mode coming soon"

I was overwhelmed immediately pretty much. There was so much to read and I still haven't really sat down and read through the encyclopedia. Heck I haven't even updated my bio or dragon details since the first week...
I was like *ummmmm what is happening* and I thought there was so much to do that I didn't understand (particularly coli and dom), but my flight community adopted me thankfully
