it’s 6:20 am and the sun is just barely up, it’s humid but i’m sitting outside listening to the birds! (the blue jays are sadly pretty loud- if you’ve ever heard one you’d know they don’t have the.... prettiestsong)

i honestly love this time of day, it’s the most relaxing in the texas heat & humidity. plus, there isn’t bird song at night! so unfair

but anyway, what’s your opinion? are mornings good or bad?
feel free to tell me why you feel either way!

As long as I don't get a headache because my sleep was interrupted at the wrong phase, and I can get some nice black tea, I'm okay with mornings. Just don't talk to me before the caffeine kicks in.

The birds here are sometimes a bit annoying if you currently want to rest, but have otherwise pleasant voices. Sure, some corvids around, like a bunch of common crows, one pair of European magpies and one of Eurasian jays, but those are usually not very chatty here. At least compared to all the finches, thrushes and chickadees.

Mornings are the absolute bestest.

I'm a natural early bird, so I used to wake up around 3 or 4. I enjoyed the solitude it offered me, and there's just something magical and comforting about watching the sun rise. Plus, I just feel so much better when I wake up early.

Unfortunately, due to some complications, I am no longer able to wake up at 3 or 4. So now I'm always grouchy when I get up.

Another morning person here! It's about 8:00 here but the birds usually chirp up a storm before the light is fully out at about 5:30, but it might just be amplified by the fact that our neighbors behind us keep finches and also have bird feeders absolutely everywhere.

I prefer the morning light from how soft and quiet things are, and I'd take it over the afternoon and evenings. It's nice and peaceful, and I'm pretty satisfied to start off my days early more often than not.

That moment in time when the sky is a deep azure, the sun isn't up but it's not dark out and everything is washed in a tint of blue? That's the best time.

How I feel about mornings depends entirely on the direction I come at it from.

If I've been awake all night, morning's are fine. I can't say I've ever heard a bluejay (they aren't native to my country -- our jays are pinkish brown and not particularly common) but there is a group of crows that sits in the trees outside my bedroom window at armpit o'clock in the morning to go WARRR WARRRR WARRRRR or KURRR KURRR KURRRR depending on the individual.

When they go away, the Magpies start and they sound like machine guns. All fun. Still, I don't mind mornings like that. I like the crisp air, the steadily lightening sky...

However, if I have to deal with a morning by getting up for it... I hate them. Ban them. As soon as my alarm goes off to get me up I want to call the police.

@Xionahri

Weird question, but ... chickadees are only native to the American continent, yet you talk of Eurasian Jays and Magpies... is it because the European name for them is banned by the filter, or because our magpies and jays are an invasive species in the US?

UK time. Sorry for timezone-related delays in responses. They/Them.
@Greyjoy

Yup, I'm a European. I thought chickadee was the name of the group that the European birds with the censorable name belong to. Thanks for letting me know that this is not the case. English is not my native language.

I like mornings.
I like the quiet early hours before everyone else is awake and there's no traffic on the road.

I wish my body would agree, I have the hardest time waking up regardless of quality or quantity of sleep.
